Poland's fate if the second world war didn't happen?

A clearly hypothetical situation.

What if the second world war didn't happen? Imagine no Hitler, no Ribbentrop-Molotov pact, no A-bomb, no Cold War etc. How would you imagine our glorious Rzeczpospolita today?

Pre-war Poland was pretty monocle. We were modernizing pretty quickly. Just let's take a few examples of our great technological designs.

PZL.37 "?o?"

PZL.50 "Jastrz?b" prototype

Orzel class submarine (one of the best pre-war submarine designs)

gundl

COP was quite a grand and successful idea. We had a modern railway system, science was doing good and **** was cash. The plans were grand and our future looked bright.

:(

Generally, people were prouder, more decent and more ambitious back then. They also actually cared. After all, ORP Orze? was croudfunded(!). And Pi?sudzki was a bro.

Poland was modernizing, as you said, but do you think that Germany and USSR wouldn`t?

How would you imagine our glorious Rzeczpospolita today?

A huge minority problem in the East, probably a legacy of terrorism as a result. Polska A would be booming, probably one of the wealthiest regions of Europe, but Polska B would remain deprived and underfunded. The independence of Galicia would be hotly debated, and Lwów would be the scene of at least one armed insurrection against Polish rule.

A look at road maps from the 1939 (interested, Harry/pawian? I've got a link) will tell you all you need to know about how bitterly backwards Polska B was.

I know this map. :):):):)

Yes, Ukrainians, Belarussians and Lithuanians would rise one day or another.

The plans were grand and our future looked bright.

Don`t forget that the pre-war government`s plans for the future war were also grand and bright.

Poland war

The reality proved different, though.
