Harry:
There is a reason that the people charging stupid prices are all trying to get their stuff booked

Because come June, the world and his wife will be letting their spare room at short notice for a fraction of what these jokers are trying to bilk people out of. I'll probably do it myself even.

Exactly. Warsaw too will have a massive one,

There is a reason that the people charging stupid prices are all trying to get their stuff booked (and deposits in hand) six months ahead of time

I booked a villa in Tuscany for August 2012 in November 2011, which is nearly 10 months ahead, the reason was better selection and availability of cheap flights. The early bird and all that...

From an Irish perspective have to say its rather sickening to see some of the prices quoted. I stayed in krakow in Nov 2010 before we headed to bratislava for Ireland V's Slovakia and got a super hotel for the equivalent of 30e per night including breakfast. Im more than a fair guy and understand that money needs to be made during euro 2012 but to even see the houses being let out for min 50e per night is truly sickening. I have six lads travelling and staying for the 14 nights and am more than happy to do a fair deal with any willing person that wants to talk prices given there'll be a definite booking 14 nights, deposit paid if needed and guaranteed no messing. Any interested party can PM me.

Lastly hope this experience isnt going to be tarnished by the exorbinant prices that will be charged for everything over here. I genuinely enjoyed my last trip to krakow and liked the polish people god knows ive met enough of them over here through work. So here's to a successful Euro 2012 in Poland/Ukraine.

Reality is simple in Poland and Ukraine. On such sites, you see the rentals per month as normally is wanted. Until you mention you are coming for the EURO 2012. Than they raise the prices gigantically. We are trying to find payable apartments for people and approached all these sites. From the moment we mentioned EURO 2012 owners and brokers suddenly want the full lick and ask double or three double the price. So your advice does not help at all. Fact stays, people are greedy and for the time there are coming fans, people want to fill their pockets, in the hope they will earn enough to take all there trouble away. That is how it works, so the advice in this threat is just to give false hope. It is not realistic and not how it works. We did find only a handfull of reasonable houweowners in Poland and Ukraine and that is what we have to deal with. My advice for fans:
Search not in the cities self, but right outside the cities. Therre the people will give you a fair price. They will earn a little bit ofcourse, but are not as greedy pigs as people in the city centers. In Sopot, Lubon, Bila Tserkva and other cities 30-50 km outside of the cities we did find very payable prices. That is my advice.

And you're just a bystander with no dog in the fight, in no way trying to pimp your own **** in this thread?

Take a hike, kid.

I'm with Midas on this one. I travel to Poland 4 times a year so I know how much I can pay for decent accomodation. The price hikes for the Euros are exhorbitant. I'm planning on staying well outside the host cities and just coming in on the day of the games. I have family in Warsaw so I'll cadge a bed for the night on match days, the rest of the time I'll travel around where I won't get ripped off. If prices had been more reasonable I would have rented an apartment for a month but I'm not giving my money to rip off merchants. I am sure by the 5/6/7th June a lot of these prices will start to come down as they realise that they have priced themselves out of the market.

Robbery in broad daylight, some of the "offers" I've seen. Most likely just people testing the waters and when they lose to someone less money-hungry they'll just change the generic e-mail address and advertise same **** for a lower price.

Unfortunately some of the EURO fans will end up renting with these scammers for lack of other options as the date approaches.
