My friend & her husband (50 yrs & 53 years) live in US. They came here legally, but their visa ran out a while ago and are, ugh, illegal now. Their entire family is still in Poland. Their children can visit with student visas.
They are WONDERFUL people whom I love and respect. They have been held up in legalities to become citizens. Is there a way that me, my husband, my brother-in-law and his wife, my aunt and uncle, my mother-in-law, my sister-in-law's family can help them? You have to understand ALL of us love her and her husband and are more than willing to help them.

Well you hae a major problem, and i am sorry about it. Ever since 9/11 all the Govt agencies are talking together. And if they have stayed here illegally, they would morfe than likely be deported at soon as they applied and were confirmed to be here illegally.
When they go back to Poland, they will be penalized and will not be able to obtain a new visa for 10 years. I know this because I have some friends in the same possition.
The best thing they can do is go to an immigration Lawyer and hop ehe can help them.
Being on a vistors visa they are not allowed to work, and they will have a hard time showing how they supported themsleves while illegal. With an I-94 card they could have extended their visa, and could have been here legally for 6 mos at a time. I think they caould have doe that 2 times before having to go back. But I unffort. think they might as well stay put and let the kids come and get green cards. They are i am surely very nice people, but is the way it is today. well then they better start saving their pesos, because the US dollar is already weaker than the Canadian dollar, unless something has changed since yesterday..

i don't think you can get an assylum from poland now.. there is no reason.. partially why visas for poles are hard to get... USA doesn't see a reason why poles have to come here.. they can go to other EU countries or stay at home.. things are better there.

I think that it is stupid that Polish people have to have a visa to come here or even to visit. Poland is not communist anymore and not a dangerous country. Bush should life the visa Policy.

they can go to Mexico and break in illegally, than they'll be given more rights than American citizens, it's a great deal.......... very logical.

On the serious side.....lawyers, lawyers, lawyers......... it'll cost but much more likely to work.

Or they will have to divorce and marry a US citizen then after 2 years divorce and re-marry each other again. It's been done. And it was with the help of an immigration lawyer.

plk123 sorry man just had to steal your hussar hope u don't mind.

In a Utopian world that would be true and ppl could live where there wished however we don't live in that world and have to deal with there reality and insanity of rules and politics. it took my family 13 years of trying to get the hell our of Poland and from under the boot of communism. in the end i didn't have a father for 3 of those years but finally perseverance worked and we're in the US now. Living the dream as some would say, it's only too bad that now this nation is about to fall like Rome. Just can't get any damn peace and quiet.

you know for someone who says they had it so hard in the place they lived, I would
think you would be more appreciative.. yes we are going thru some tough times
right now, but its the people that need to stick together, thats what America is all
about.. you say mean things about American girls, but you only been with a few of them, not the who nation and so you make like those few represent the whole
America.. would you want people to say the same about Poland?

yes, few bad apples in every tree, but that is why they fall off the tree while the
others stay good.

no u just have to vote for the guy that deals with it.. we have to deal with the
media fed rubbish.. true or false statements , lies exists.. does this affect your normal
daily routine?

it upsets us, but we are only involved in minor contributions.. the big guys handle
it all thats the truth of it..

Sorry this is a bit off topic but this woman is driving me crazy so i have to respond.

Ohh Patrycja you have got to learn to pay attention and not assume so much and if you are going to assume things than make sure to state that and perhaps ask for a correction if you happen to be wrong, other wise u just come off looking like a 40 watt bulb..

Like with your post on my thread i'll take the time to explain things to you and hope for the best.

Please point out where i discuss how hard my life has been or better yet claim that it was hard. As far as i can tell all i presented in my statement was that it was not an quick/easy process to get out of Poland, a communist country @ the time. A commentary on the topic @ hand and something AmirahJanowitz & plk123 were talking about. As things would have it, in fact my life was quite easy and worry free for the most part due to the hard work and love of my parents, but that's neither here nor there.

If you would think @ all you wouldn't make such an unsupported claim.
Without getting into too much detail i can safely tell you that i appreciate what this country did for my family and all the other immigrants like us immensely. My American friends are astonished how patriotic and involved i am ( much more so than they are ) in the fight for this nation not even being born here. I fight to keep it moving in the right direction every day. Not being a person holding a political position of power i do my little bits to keep this nation going in the right direction, although more and more now trying to bring it back from the of wrong direction it has been moving in for some time. Disseminating literary, audio and visual information to as many people as i can reach. Contacting my representatives in government on a regular basis in the effort to keep them voting correctly etc. etc. etc.
How much do you do Patrycja ?
My guess is not much, my guess is that you're not even particularly well informed on what is actually happening in this country of ours. I derive that guess from your comment, because if you were informed you would not questioned my appreciation for this nation but understood it what i said about falling like Rome and perhaps commented in agreement with it, despite it's exaggerated level @ least for the time being.

I tell you what i do agree with you on...

Quoting: Patrycja19

that is true we do need to stick together but thus far that couldn't be further from the truth could it. Since never in history of this nation other than perhaps the Civil war has this nation been more polarized. All the while our own government takes advantage of our divide over petty things, further plunging this nation into turmoil and eventual collapse, like Rome Patrycja........ providing that people do not wake up and involved.

Do you know what the average life cycle or a republic is.... about 300 years.
Do you know why they usually fall, mainly due to internal corruption and apathy on the part of it's people.

Ok here we go, r u ready ??

The 1st part is a fabrication of your hyper imagination ( see the reply in my thread )
by the way how do you know how many women i've had the pleasure of being with or knowing ?? There is that prophet syndrome kicking in again.

I think i figured out correctly that you tried to say in the second half of that statement so i'll try to reply to that.

People generalize on things all the time some are generalizations are true and some are not. some examples for you : Polaks are stupid, Jews are good with money, American girls are nuts.

Polaks are stupid: is that true, of course not but ask was it true when it originated and the simple answer is yes like it or not. How is that true u may ask, well during the mass immigration to America between 1899-1930 or so the bulk of the immigrants were uneducated simple people. So to the established populace ( previous immigrants ) that was an easy generalization based on lack of the immigrans formal education. Does that mean that all were stupid or that even the ones that were not highly educated but highly adaptable and street smart were, of course not. However, on a educational level as a generalization it applied and was true. It certainly doen't apply any more.

Jews are good with money: Is every Jew good with money ? Nope
but as a people comparatively to other societies do the Jewish people more often stick as close nit families and pass on their acquired business knowledge from generation to generation yes.......the proof is in the pudding my dear, how else can a people that have been brutalized so much through our history survive and flourish. making the generalization true.

American girls are nuts: again is every one of them nuts ? nope
Statistically are American girls more prone to be self centered, career oriented, materialistic, not as family oriented, driven, independent, quicker to take the divorce route women that lets say Mexican, Chinese, Japanese, or Polish for that matter. That would be a yes. Simple cultural differences, not even commenting on right and wrong or better and worse just different.
So when it comes to marriage and setting up a family those characteristics make them nuts to me.

Without generalizations there is not truth...... i am not going to take the time to explain this to you, in case you don't understand what i mean.

****Lastly for Christ sake don't take everything so literally, there is such a thing as humor, look into it, it's fun. ****

In a two party system with both parties corrupted with little difference between them do you honestly think voting is the solution ? Can you be this naive ?

you have issues..

I will post just as you have what I want, when I want, how I want.. I didnt make
the comments, you did. now you have a change of heart because you dont want to
look bad?

thats not my problem. as for your comment on me driving you nuts.. heh heh..
it isnt me who drives you nuts, it is lack of ability to deal with people.

I work in the health care field.. daily I take care of people. so your ASSumption of me
was way off buddy.. but thats ok, its expected of someone of your class.. which is none when you can openly say hey,, so i made fun of American girls.. take it lightly..

sorry, but being patriotic doesnt mean bashing women.. thats another thing you did
wrong.. because if you were the upper class you say you are.. even those comments
to me would have been more tactful.. so there for I think MR you are a huge liar
who knows how to manipulate..

good luck on all your endevors.. and have a nice day..
