Huge EU investment in Polands infastructure. Roads, airports. Huge movement of labour out of Polska. Unemployment has gone down. Very large recepient of direct foreign investment. Many large corporations moving buisness to Poland and creating jobs, e.g Intel near Gdansk.

While what Miranda says may make sense, I'm interested to know the opinions of Irish people (where market prices after joining the EU have dramatically risen). Have many Irish immigrants actually returned to Ireland after that?

Also, I noticed (on this forum too) there are more and more requests like "Looking for someone to sell my property in Poland, will pay high commission." So the speculators are trying to cash in, but it's not so easy to sell a Polish property for a good price anymore.

Seeing as you asked for an Irish opinion......
Although prices are up & inflation is over 5% already for this year I would still rather be in the EU. It was 35 years ago that we joined and things were much worse then. High unemployment, high taxes, Industrial strikes and of course the violence up north.
Things are alot better now!

I used to hate the Island of Sydvaranger off of Norway because I could never spell it for O level Geography. I'm also not overly keen on Tierra del Fuego

As I have said many times on this Forum, then elcet a government that will take you out of the EU. If necessary srat a political party to do it yourself. Poland chose to join. By so doing you accepted the free movement of capital and labour

I would not even dream of an English or West European girl ... Not to hurt anybody here... But I think there is alot of ego/pride..etc etc there....not my kind.

Never saw much Polish men really marrying them (I am sure some do, but not many). Perhaps some dishonest and shamless man goes there, uses a girl there for entertainment, even while having children here (in Poland), and the western girls go ahead with them!!! I have read so much about it in here.

While, I dont like the language of Polish_pride and not being against anybody here. I dont think Aniolek is right about Polish men behind Irish or anyother women in Europe other than Polish themselves! Polish women are perfect, if we need a European in our lives (in the usual manner).

Even the crazy Polish man knows this fact.

not eu

I think EU is not that bad for our economy. Ofcourse if there comes a next best thing (which will come as the world progress), I will vote Poland to join that group!... for the time being, EU is ok.

Ofcourse, I also agree that the Polish people have the right....and we are excercising the right in being in EU. However, a better option is yet to arrive....but surely will. The world always moves forward bringing better.

I am not against foreighners. I wonder where Polish Pride lives....but sounds like probably in Poland.

About Polish nationalist women... well... women in our country can be very religious and sometimes love Poland more then the men do (not that men love less!).

Look... knowing Poland in UK, and knowing Poland in Poland is different. Just like knowing Poland in the town, and in the interior is different.

I can tell you onething atleast...that me, along with the rest of my Poish friends (in my uni ), we dont hate anybody. Accept some upset friends who like it when america gets hit (dunno why they enjoy that), and the Real State Dealers from West. I know there was also some protests in few Polish towns on price rises very recently.

And... there are all kinds of girls Giles! Some girls want the man from far away, exotic!....some would want a rich guy (usually in the towns). Majority of people is in the rest of Poland...not in our famous towns.

Quoting: FISZ
awful lot of PL girls date asians

Cant agree more. Once I whispered this point here in the Polish forums....but never felt like discussing about it :S ... however, always felt a hunch that Polish girls like the people from East.... .... usually Asia for that matter. Well...they like to imagine atleast!
Maybe because Europe is Europe.... is you want someone European, Polish is here... other than a Pole... if you look for someone different....then it is supposed to be different.

I dont mind people making their independent choices....I never felt any problem with this. Actually no Polish man I know has any problem with this!... which I am quite HAPPY and PROUD to write . We are very much filled with self belief...and we are confident.... we feel free when we let people free.

I dont watch much TV... but I have my own opinion. If I need someone European...I prefer Polish - and I am not the only Polish man who thinks like this - trust me . ... Hope you have a good day today!... I am sure you are a wonderful person.

Unfortunately not, Giles seems to have swapped his medication for vodka and smoke, yeah doesn't he talk so much rubbish. These type of people want to come to Poland and change its way of life. No way.. He is not welcomed in Poland.
The only people who support him are the English people who want to get rid of him from England, The French won't have him.
How much longer are we to endure his abusive and insulting manner.

yes, but naturally such a group would stem form the UN style size org or learning from the EU's footsteps. It was the EU ad nothing else that has done more for uniting the people on the continent. Of course when all European countries are in, the Union would HAVE to change as it would begin to accept middle east, africian, asian nations at first.

so this new group your talking about, all eu countires would be there. poland is not a seperate entity on its own. its apart of a union. and like any other union, they do what is best for everyone. but yes of course that includes us all joining a new group that is better for us all.

Re: somebody calling himself / herself 'polish_pride.' - Never heard such views in Poland, from real Polish people. I think they have been appreciating the EU membership already. And if the Polish salaries go up (experts say it'll happen within next 5 years), and some political issues of concern to Poles get clarified, eg. the German-Russian and EU-Russian relations, then you won't find happier people in the EU.

Be careful whilst speaking to trolls.

no problem, Polish people are moving west to work in many cases. but it has also been said that many eastern people from asia and middle east etc moving to poland (as its better than where they are from). What is your opinion on this?

Daffy, Poles aren't only 'moving West;' they are also moving North, South, even East of Europe in search of work. By the way, I don't like the idea of 'West' as something inherently different and opposed to Poland and Poles; I think it's an obsolete Cold War and also racial term. So even if we're in the EU we're still not West?

In my opinion, it's in the vital interest of the EU not to expand any more and limit to an absolute minimum immigration from outside EU. Europe needs to be put in order first, and European people cared for before others.

How is it that EU members Romanians and Bulgarians have limited access to the EU labour market and scores of folks from Asia, Africa, and Arab countries are taken in and given priviledges that EU nationals don't have. this is really anti-European and criminal. It also makes integration of all the present EU member states so much harder, even impossible.

I don't believe in so-called global economy; I think it's just a bunch of cunning American propaganda. The earth resources are too limited, and so we must compete for them, especially with entities that use masses of them, such as America and China.
