Importing goods to the UK

Hello all.

Just wonder if anyone on the forum has experience of importing goods (doesn't matter what products) to the UK.

Would be grateful for any useful links,
ie import laws and import taxes taxes (some goods are duty free?)
transport companies.

Personal experiences and horror stories please!
