Just joined today. I am of Polish descent (Szymanski) and found this website by accident, found it very interesting and decided to join. I am hoping to learn more about Polish culture and one day visit Poland and meet other Polish people.

Thank you. Warsaw seems to be a really nice place from the pictures I have seen. I like the buildings there, especially in Royal Castle Square. Buildings in America look more like boxes with doors to me. I wonder if there is any possible distant relation between your friends family and mine. All I know at the moment is that when my family left Poland the went to Canada first then to Michigan in the USA.

Thanks again to all! It is really cool being able to speak/type to other Polish people around the world.

Poland2006, I posted a reply to the Dublin job scam thing. Yes San Diego is in California in the USA. What part of Michigan are you in? I have been to Alpena, Lansing, east Tawas and a few other places when I was younger. I liked it. Seeing doors that were three to four feet off the ground for snow was pretty cool too!

Hi IMTHESKI
My sister lives in San Diego and she goes to a Polish church where they teach her kids Polish. Been there several times. Great place. Love the zoo. And "Jack-in-the-box" .

Hey Krysia! What church does she go to? Do they have adult classes? If you like Jack in the box you should try IN-N-OUT! It is so much better and cheaper too. If you haven't been there make it a point to next time your out this way.

I have alot of family in San Diego, all over the place. From National City to San Ysidro. I used to stay over there alot. My cousins would take me to Tijuana when we were teenagers. The illegal aliens had a path right outside their window, the ones who lived in San Ysidro.

I live right across from a Jack in The Box. The coffee is good. I go there for the coffee and then go home and cook fish and vegetables.

Hi!
The church is St. Maximillian Kolbe Polish Mission on Grand Ave.
At this time they only offer religion classes in Polish because there isn't enough interested people in Polish classes. But there are adds posted on the church bulletin board that teach Polish.

I did a search on google and found out that they also served kangaroo meat. And other places have done the same thing.

Depends on the breed. The Arabs are the toughest.

Have you ever seen dog stew? Korean restaurants serve it in Los Angeles. The authorities have stepped in to put a stop to it. I saw it on the news. There was a big dog leg in the pot with vegetables. The weird thing is that I have a Korean friend who gave me food from her restaurant and I didn't recognize the meat. I suspect it was dog.

They were Hmong. Three of my dogs were stolen. Purebred collies. Never found them I even checked their garbage for bones or fur fragments but there are so many of them Hmongs around and didn't find anything. Many dogs and cats were dissapearing.
A mail-man once saw a dead German Shepherd in a trunk of a Hmong car. I bet they had an Octoberfest Party that night!
