I think since the UK is closer you would get more Poles living here because of the ease of getting to and fro

i believe in Doncaster alone there is 7,000 polish people

But in total in the whole of the UK somewhere in the region of nearly half a million polish people now live, work and study here in the UK they are expecting that this figure will grow amongst the new polish communities here in the UK over the next 2 years.

here in doncaster we have a few publications(newspapers etc) in polish available in the polish shops located on silver street and copley road
(a little wink for you there maya so you know where there are) i am a regular at the one on copley road (the bloke that owns it imports all the polish stock direct from poland ) also on copley road is a polish bakery (not been in it yet!)

But check them out ... not keen on the stall in the corn exchange market of doncaster that stocks polish food and other continential products (i think over priced :S)

There are a lot in Slough, High Wycombe and Wembley that I'm aware of. Also quite a few in Peterborough.

There are 5000-10000 in Luton due to Luton Airport and cheaper rents

According to the census the biggest amount of Poles can be found in New York state, especially in New York City.

Sledz, good article and pretty much true. I was surprised that NYC/state has more polish people than Chicago...

Yeah, they are spread more in NYC. Besides Greenpoint, there is no real polish "hood".
I used to live briefly in Maspeth, NY. There was a quite big polish presence there, however.

And that's bad. We should rather concentrate and take over some of these little countries, like Ireland for example.

Luzerne County in US is the only county in the United States with a plurality of citizens reporting Polish as their primary ancestry
It has over 319.250 population and certainly 60% of them are polish origins
