Independent English teacher in Poland

I am living and working in Poland and already have the correct visas to live and work through the company that hired me. However, I am hoping to also teach English independently (not through a school,just doing private lessons). As I don't speak Polish very well, I would only be able to work with those who had a basic command of the language and then work on grammar and vocabulary. Is it appropriate to simply post an advertisement around universities and high schools and such? Or are there typically rules prohibiting such things? I am also very interested in getting into proof- reading documents,both for corporations and private individuals. I'd be very grateful if anyone could recommend a way to get into this. Thank you for your help.

You can post in a newspaper for Upper Intermediate. I would call around a school though. It's much easier and I have found the pay to be better. Your schedule will be more solid and they'll deal with scheduling and such. Most schools have night classes as well.

It's worth ringing round schools - they have either full-time vacancies or odd lessons here and there that they want to fill.

One problem with private lessons is that one tends to lead to another, so you have to find the first few.

Don't wrry about levels - except outside the capital, in the boondocks, most are high level anyway, and it's perfectly possible to do absolute beginners, just a specific skill. Try 'English File' as a course book - it gives it all on a plate.

If i were you, i'd try advertising on the internet for giving private lessons. gumtree.com or whichever which you find. I think there are lots of ppl doing this, and native speakers of English are searched for.
