Indian Stores In Warsaw

Hello Everyone,

I am south asian and will be moving to Warsaw in a few months, and I wanted to know if there are any Indian grocery stores in warsaw. Would appreciate any tips

Great Indian shop near the corner of Rozana and Kazimierowska in Warsaw. The Indian restaurant by the Barbican also has/had a store but I ain't been to the old town for ages so don't even know if it still there. plus lots of Asian food stores dotted around and a couple of superb Arab food stores. Also a Polish chain called 'Kuchnia Swiata' which imports from all over the world. I love cooking and source these places out

Kuchnia Swiata has some stuff but a far better choice is Namaste at Nowogrodzka 15. As well as a tiny restaurant (the best Indian food in Warsaw) they have a good selection of Indian essentials.

This "Namaste India" mentioned by Harry is really gud. I have bee to a couple of Indian restaurant (maharaja, indian curry) here in warshaw but this namaste India has the most delicious Indian food (even when compared to restaurants back in India).
It is a tiny little restaurant probably more of a "take away".
Since december I am going there atleast once a week, Rest of the days I am relying on my own cooking skills :).

there is an online shop called little india I think that they have a store and restaurant in warsaw also. I will be starting an online shop selling goods and foods from india out of Jelenia Gora in a few months

Yes it is tiny! Two tables and seats for six people.

The best way to get food from Namaste is to phone your order in before you leave home because it usually takes 20 to 40 minutes for them to cook it.

They sometimes deliver but only to the city centre and only if you spend more than 50 zloty.

This is for EVERYONE. Since one of the things I do, is event planning, (quite big in the USand UK) I was anyway thinking of setting up a few things and sending out invites. I'll be in WAW by the end of next month and would love some imput from members here...We could definitely have a dinning evening like FIN suggested, and to make things interesting we could do something monthly with different themes according to people's interests/liking. Not sure what kind of response we may get, but will definitely try and set something up...

Not Polish, just been here a long time and know the city very well (I used to write ten reviews a month about restaurants and bars for a magazine here and my guidebook to Warsaw is being published by Thomas Cook Publishing next month).

I am employed with a company whose travel arrangements are contracted to Thomas cook (New Delhi). May be next time I can request them for one of your guidebook :).

Please do that! The book is released in the USA 1 March and the UK and EU 28 March. I don't know when it is released in the rest of the world. Thomas Cook also have a very good guide to Krakow (not written by me) and a fairly good guide to Gdansk (also not written by me).

Ksanjay, bless ur nation for producing such tasty food!! I like every type of curry from the mild ones to the spicy ones. Dhansak, Rogan Josh, Balti, Pasanda, Korma, Madras, Ceylon and, well, Vindaloo although it kills me. I'd love to eat pappadums again and nan bread. HEAVENLY!!

Now ur talkin!! Tikka Masala is a gift from God himself. Laden with calories but damn fine on the taste buds
