info about the "brave Vistula" and Wincenty Pol

can anyone help me about Wincenty Pol? all u can find is info in polish. as i understood he found where the vistula is starting and gave the place the name "brave Vistula". is this true? did i understand right?

Wincenty Pol is an explorer of the Vistula and called the ravine of the Vistula River the Brave Vistula. This name is still using nowadays. Thats what i know. Plus i found for u short info in english.
