Making a successful pop song (I haven't heard any of the Eurovision entries by the way) does not make a country any more advanced, developed or friendly.

Really, Russian society is full of rumours about his actual orientation, i.e. is he gay or not. But in fact most of our pop stars are trying to cover their sexual preferences and Bilan (his stage name) is a bright evidence. I hardly can imagine how they manage to fulfil their sexual desires, suppose it is rather difficult to do without risk of public disclosure. May be they jerk?

The russian song was so powerful because it contained three gays, not just one.

George Sand (Amandine Aurore Lucile Dupin, Baronne Dudevant), however, was a woman. An odd one, albeit, but she was what Fred needed.

So what were they? An odd straight pair?

Your intimate feeling toward Russians

- Well, it's a Polish forum, so I fail to clearly see why the participants should answer such questions.... My 'intimate' feeling is as follows: the Russians are bullies by nature so any close and intimate relationship between them and us doesn't seem possible. The Russians are strong now but they will be weak and helpless yet, however hard they could try to prevent this. Bullies always end up like that. The time of decay is near, I believe.

- Well, I would think that if you make a statement first you should give the supporting evidence when asked for it, especially if the statement is negative and relates to a person. So what's your supporting evidence?

Russians are not very nice. They can seem primitive and rude in western eyes. However we like them because they are Slavs.

As I said my real life experience with them is not that much. I went out with a Russian girl in the past and she was not rude or primitive at all.

I've had a few working relationships and personal relationships with some Russians in NY (Little Odessa BKLYN) I think they were genuinely nice and very hospitable. I currently work with someone who fled Russia in the 80's and he's one of the nicest people I've met. No problem with them, but I'm sure you can find some primative rude Russians somewhere.....maybe next to the primative rude American or Phillipino ;)

"Violin" after "sunflower seeds" accidental exception which we're used to call "once a year even broom fires a shot" and you seem to be aware of it.
Any PR-agent may tell you that it’s the most unstable part of society and at the same time most targeted because it’s easier to take them in.

Just take a look on all historical processes, recall all barbaric invasions in Europe. Dose brute Anglo-Saxes, Francs, Germans, Slavs or Huns still exist? No! Their savage customs were softened step by step and now we can see civilized company of prim Englishman, refined Frenchman, meticulous German, pensive Russian and well, Hungarian whose savage is still presents in form of predilection for barbaric soup – goulash.
Sasha:
Against the background that Lenin was one of the most arrant Russophobes ever, who planned to enslave Russians and make humble cattle of them your words sound like a compliment.

Be careful when you speak about such outstanding persons like Lenin or Stalin, you can be caught in the net of your own errors.
Buy “Zhizn’ Klima Samgina” (Klim Samgin’s Life) film. This film gives an accurate account on the corruption of morals of Russian intelegentsia before revolution, so Lenin had a right to name them “sranaya intellegentsiya”. Nothing changed, you re the same.
Sasha:
First of all the more presice rendering for item2 is "People's will"...

Words “Will” and “Liberty” have analogues sounding on Russian, though I bet that Mikhailov had this double meaning in mind naming this organization.
Sasha:
The other point is that you forgot to mention year 2000.

Nice year! It was a turning point in all Russian history. It was our "Glory Revolution" as if our king James II (Yeltsin) abdicated in favour of our king George (Putin) by his own will.
Sasha:
Do you know what all these events have in common? They all wouldn't take place without help of bydlo. They served as clay for pottery or as an axe for felling. Clay doesn't think, master thinks.
And there's no need to change anything as your generation already changed it first in early 90th and then in the year 2000.

My generation? Don’t make me feel as I am old man, I suppose that we belong to the same generation. I assure you that my limbs are still hard and we could have some affairs hypothetically.
BTW, where had you been and what you had been doing in 90-th? As for me, I can say that I was near White House and Ostnkino in 1993, though only as a gaper.
Sasha:
That is funny nonsence. Either you're pathological liar or ignorant bullsh%tter. Anyways if you were any familiar with anthropology, you wouldn't say that rubbish. "Violin" after "sunflower seeds" accidental exception which we're used to call "once a year even broom fires a shot" and you seem to be aware of it.
Any PR-agent may tell you that it’s the most unstable part of society and at the same time most targeted because it’s easier to take them in.

Oh! Here is the Skull Measurer coming! Say us something for goodness’ sake about your Eugenical views!
Sasha:
I know you won’t (I’m only have some doubts concerning the side you would be at). But what I’m trying to explain is that it’s not a big deal to run into war but it’s hard to stave it off.

In the name of people welfare.

Please leave alone historical facts, don't manipulate them. Barbarians in their explicit form are truly gone but this doesn't mean indeed they were civilized or something. They have naturally died out or transformed to what we may nowadays call PTUshnik-bydlo or americans call "redneck-hillbilly". They are fine when being managed but as soon as they get the right to rule - expect bloodbath.

Errors? Meh... What're you talking about? Tell that to millions of victims of that era. You suggest me asking Gorkiy about Lenin. May I suggest you asking Himmler on Hitler personality then? Also you forget to mention that Lenin as well as Stalin were very intelligent and to some extent might be related to aforesaid "intelligencija" with the only difference - they both came to power with help of rednecks. At that point you may easily notice the difference between two ways of getting the power. The most evident distinction are people's lives.

ConstantineK:

This year showed us that we're lack of "intelligencija". The consequence of it you might have noticed all this time. Well... not you... but "intelligincija".

ConstantineK:
I suppose that we belong to the same generation.

We are not.

ConstantineK:

If you said just "Cho?" ("What?"), that would be equal and much shorter. I'm not gonna eliminate gaps in your knowledge.

ConstantineK:

Whose welfare? :) Politicians'? You've already improved it. Maybe enough?
War can't make people happier by its definition.

Of course it's a joke. Of course they're not going to eat you...

...they might eat Poland, but they'll spare the Poles.

If Russia was a food product, I'm not sure what it would be. I assume whatever it would be, it would be something you can wash down with vodka. But then the same would probably go for Poland as well. Chocolate cake and vodka? Each to their own.

States Side I have many Russian friends and when I run into someone from Eastern Europe we form a common bond and it doesn't matter if their from Serbia(many serbs in milwaukee) we seem to get along great. I haven't run into a Russian or Serb I didn't get along with, however some have "the old way" of thinking towards poles.

Agree..When I've worked with Russians or Ukranians in the US I never met one I didn't like. Always funny and friendly. I understand Poles have had a different history with them though.

With Czechoslovakija everything wasn't that perfect either. My Czech friend told me once: "if we didn't have «Pražské jaro», our relationship with you (Russians) would be like you now have with Serbs".

Interesting poll on how many Russians think they're Slavs.
http://bd.english.fom.ru/report/cat/frontier/international_relations/s lavjane/ed012710
I'd emphasize that 60% of people experience fraternal feelings toward other Slavs. Also I was surprised that Poles (in the survey of sympathies) goes right after Jugoslavija and before Czech Rep (perhaps that's why poll is pretty old).
