translatica.pl tells me this:
A Tyrolean tin is a product made out of the pork and cow meat, pork crusts and the potato flour with the addition of vegetables and aromatic-taste spices
translated from this site :Tyrolska product
Now maybe someone who knows can answer lol. I think you are safe with it though hehe...maybe...

edit: don't often see you around here any more Babi!

Other than the fact that dogs will eat pretty much anything edible this is not dog food. Still, a very peculiar item for a present from a trip to Poland :)

(I see they make them now with that little thingie to open the can without a can opener. Now I see that Poland changed since I left ;) )

Still plenty of tins without ringpulls (introduced here maybe 10 years ago?) in Poland, but this one looks like some tourist food, so it's more practical this way.

It's just a tinned meat like in the UK ham, pork, corned beef can be tinned. Still a bit odd for a present though... :)

Exactly. Pate is that stuff you use for fixing glass into window frames.

High class tins have ring-pulls whereas low-class tins require openers.
I really can't stand cheap and nasty tin openers, but who has a top of the range tin opener for opening cheap and nasty tins?

these days you can get electronic tin openers that go around the lid by themselves and open it for you, no effort from your side required.

that's not always the rule

Hang on everyone - I think I might have mistaken pate for putty. Which is the one that tastes better?

JustysiaS:
sorry for not using fancy french letters

You mean the a wearing a pointy hat, the e with a beret?
Feeling sorry for not using french letters could mean realising the girlfiriend is pregnant
Feeling sorry for not using fancy French letters - go to the kinky thread.
Feeling sorry for not using French fancies - Mr. Kipling does make exceedingly good cakes.

I shall stop now.

Paddy fields - Do they really grow rice in Ireland?

JustysiaS:

French letters - euphemism for condoms.
French fancies - I think they are neither French nor fancy. Mr. Kipling sucks.
