Hi guys, I wonder if it is easy for an expat to live in Poland? What was strange for you what you like?

The most important thing is to know the Polish language. Without it it would be hard to lead every-day life for an expat to Poland . I think there are quite a few expats in Poland - especially students and teachers of foreign languages.

Yes, I think language can the the biggest barrier for a foreigner. Other things - food (not everyone likes the Polish food of course) + transportation (the roads aren't that great - especially in the countries).

But when it comes to public transportation we have a better public transportation than in many W. European countries and the US.

I wouldn`t make such jokes - you wouldn`t belive how many retards there are around the World who would belive i.e. that there is no color tv i Poland or that people wash their clothes in rivers here becaouse we don`t have any washing machines - and I`m absoloutely serious here - this belief often comes from jokes like this.

I got it (but well, it's their loss - we don't want retards visiting Poland .

After my first visit to poland, somebody asked me if there are cars in poland (most people had the impression of what they say in photos of the polish countryside showing horses and carts.

I feel at home in Poland. The language was strange at first, but I'm slowly getting used to it.. The food was strange too, but I liked most of the things I've tried so far.

Easy to live? Hmm.. I don't really know yet, maybe I can answer this question when I really have experienced everyday life for myself in Poland.

So far, I've only been on a few holidays to Poland to meet with my friends. But yeah, I like the people, the mentality and the culture very much.

I want to migrate in about two years, after I finish my studies and mastered the language, and I really don't care if I make less money.

Living in Poland versus going to holidays are two different things . YOu need to remember your friends will change too (I'm not sure how old you are but I'm sure some if not most of your friends will have less and less time for being a friend when they get married and have their jobs and families to take care of. But I wish you good luck - I'm happy you like Poland too! .

HAHAHAHAHA U must be a primitive human if u say something like that! Im in the United states and I found Poland is quite an advanced place! I have also been to countries like Japan, Malaysia, Australia. I think Poland was more advance then Australia to be honest, while in cases of Malaysia and alike countries... they are both advance and backwards in one... all depends the areas u go to!

You know, backward was not just to fact of being Hitech... remember Poland is close to Germany which is pretty hitech... and in terms of tech Australia is not backward... its more the people I came across, the mentality. Nice place to visit but after being there for a year of study.... I dont think I want to live there. No offence, but its just my opinion.

That is in terms of Australia.... but I have spent 6 months of my life in Poland and I LOVED it... did like the fact everyone kept asking me if I ''understand'' but I guess thats natural... it was only help for me to speak fluent polish... now i gotta learn to write fluent polish I also spend 6 months of my life in India and it was just a good... different experience to Poland but same amount of love i gained for both... however English was more of a common use in Indian then Poland :P But lots of Polish do ESL so that worked out not bad

You obviously don't appreciate a good easy going lifestyle, good food and high standard of living. I suppose you prefer bigos and sausages

hahaha.... ummm ''good easy going lifestlye''.... what, jobless bums getting paid to sit on their ass all day while real people who need the governments help get nothing... that doesnt sound easy going to me... and so many people i met, only thought about the next party instead of studying for school... which the education system also is ''easy going'', What India does in 4th grade Australia is teaching in 10th grade! What the states do in 6th grade Australia does in 10th grade! I cant comment for Poland as I have not studied there, but from what I hear Poland has a high education standard too. And as for what i PREFER in food terms... I dont really like Australian food, though its actually very mixed up.... u aussies eat more fastfood then most of the americans i know!... Vegemite? Ugh? What is that stuff, like eating melted tarr :S ...

if u must inquire into my diet... yes I eat Polish food and I love Bigos. I also eat of a lot of indian food and american food... like sweet yams... which u australians have no appreciation for... u think american food is fastfood.... do ur research.
