I just happened to run into these boards while googling something else...some very interesting conversation relative to most message boards.

Regarding the topic at hand, I'll chime in with my own anecdote. I'm an Indian guy, and my girlfriend of many years (now ex) was Polish (Warsaw) -- I assume she still is :). She is exceptionally attractive by anyone's standard with a stereotypical Polish look -- blonde hair/blue eyes/reasonably tall -- and did modeling, etc at various points in life.

She had dated Indian guys before me, and darker complexioned men appealed to her according to her. She wasn't particularly fond of other blond/blue eyed men. The exoticism and, I suppose, the underlying Darwinistic tendency to want to breed with people of other gene pools came into play. Sorry, guys, but she specifically wasn't into Polish guys -- more so for perceived behavior/attitudes.

However, she did indicate that height was an attractive quality in a man so I guess she made an exception for me since we were the same height. I did glean, though, that this emphasis on height in men was a disproportionately emphasized variable in Polish culture relative to others -- certainly American and Indian -- based on a variety of conversations. To be frank, I don't get it. What advantage does being tall provide unless you're going to be a professional athlete (e.g basketball)?...a better seat in the movie theater?

Also, based on my trips to Poland and a variety of conversations, it seemed that Polish women were particularly interested in foreign looking guys -- especially darker complexioned guys -- Mediterranean, Indian. It seems that this applies to Eastern European women in general. I'm not sure why that is beyond the usual Darwinian assumptions. One hypothesis is that Eastern Bloc countries were insulated for so long that they didn't have the opportunity to experience foreign cultures or the presence of foreigners as much as Western Bloc countries.

As an aside, I think that women generally tend to be more open-minded than men in any culture. As a result, they are more willing to open their hearts to men of different backgrounds.

As for myself, I find women of all kinds attractive. While Indian women can be extremely beautiful, I've never had an extended relationship with one...not that I have anything against it. Deep down, though, everything else equal, I think I have a preference to be with someone who appears different from myself.

I have some other comments/questions about Polish women, but it's best I leave that to other boards.

I couldn't be attracted by a particular religion. But on the opposite, I really don't mind what my other half is spiritually intrested. Except if it's some kind of dangerous sect obviously.

It's just not something that comes up when you start a relationship.. later on when you get to know each other really well, for some it can become a deal breaker..

Picking up girls? Since it seems some can't do without a 6feet man for some reason or the other..

Are you sure you're not mistaken? Many Arabs consider what's considered normal in western culture, (like a waitress who smiles) as a definate come-on on the part of the Western woman.

This has been my experience. But if they were relly attracted to the dark-skinned look, then maybe poor-racial hygiene may be at work. Many years of communism has cause numerous problems throughout Eastern Europe.

No matter what your appearance (how attractive you are as a person) that becomes a secondary issue when you get involved and get to know someone. I have known people who were drop dead gorgeous, but after a while, you forget about it, and you just see this person for who he/she is. Sometimes, it is only when you introduce him/her to others, and see the reaction, that you remember "oh yeah" he/she is stunning!

Then on the other hand I've known people who were gorgeous on the outside, and not even quite human on the inside.

And then there are the people that are "average" in looks, but then you begin to see what extraordinary beings they are, and they just get more and more beautiful the more time you spend with them. Then you can't understand why that "beauty" isn't immediately obvious to everyone! :)

I'm guyanese and i'm with a polish guy, i love polish men maybe it's the accent and the height! I've had 5 polish boyfriends and they didn't care that i'm brown, i think that's what attracted them to me.

Hehehe... I always liked British, Irish, Scottish, Caribbean, German, Russian and even Indian accent in English language, but never were too fond with my polish one. Now I'm slowly starting to regret it. :)



There is something to it. Not many of those relationships end in marriage though.

I disagree with Curious George.Women all over Europe(also Swedish,british,german) like mediterranean men.In fact they like tall,tanned,slim mediterranean men.It is not exclusively a tendency among polish girls.The latter may like mediterranean but also british or german men.The best looking ones are girlfriends of the good looking polish men.
Polish girls do not go for material compensations.That is why they choose handsome boys in general.In other countries you may see very ugly men getting hot girls due to income etc but in Poland 90% of beautiful girls have handsome boyfriends.It is more common to see a handsome foreigner with an ugly polish girl than an ugly foreigner with a beautiful polish girl.
Polish girls like tall men because they are tall themselves and choose by appearance.I saw only two times a boyfriend shorter than his girlfriend in Poland.

lets face it guys... ive yet to meet a woman who can resist the charms... suave sophistication and reassuring aire of confidence finely honed through generations of assured superiority... of an english man...

Applicable to same race relationships aswell you see... Just ... couples vary... its the ideals they carry...

I also believe british are top in pick up through british charm.I have convinced it myself.
Whenever there are british around chances to pick up girls decline dramatically cause all go for the british.They have already destroyed places like Prague.
