I was at Jagiellonski for a while in August 1986 at a summer school programme. I remember that it was impossible to drink the water and wear anything white due to the air pollution! To buy decent alcohol and to buy chocolate you had to go to the PEWEX where people stood outside and offered to buy your dollars for more than the official rate'. A funny lot of people in Krakow all together!

No, not at all. Anybody and everybody can participate on a Summer language programme, if you can afford the fees and the time off work, that is. I agree that the name of Jagiellsonski sounds posh but the name was all it was, I can assure you.
