I found this site yesterday and read alot of posts from some real nice people here.
Both of my parents are Polish and came to the US after WWII. They met here when they were young and my siblings and I were born here.

Hi Jim.
Sounds like my story. And don't tell me there were 5 kids in your family, because that would really be freaky!!!

Only 4. My Father was 14 when the Germans took him out of Church and away from his family for forced labor on the German farms.

Hi Jim,
We joined about the same time. All the views here are pretty interesting, some quite strong, some even hostile. Oh, well. Such is the world

My mother's sister was taken to Germany, she was only 16. Later the family heard that she had two kids and died young. The kids grew up in foster home. It was right after the war and nobody had the money to go and look for them.

No snow in St. Pt. very warm, just like in Minn., but wind blowing hard now and getting colder.
There's a Polish saying:
"Święta Barbara po lodzie, Boże Narodzenie po wodzie"

OK. Dec. 4th is the names day for St. Barbara. And if you get ice that day, meaning it's very cold, then by Christmas you will get warm weather, or water. And vise-versa. It's like an almanac.

They do that at Six flags too. I remember we used to go on boats called the " Ducks"
and the go-carts
