jlester: john lester here

hello my name is john lester, but my real last name is leszczak. I am 100% percent polish. However, for some reason my family doesn't speak of my heritage. Today my father took me to my great grandfather's grave, and on a large tombstone i saw the name Leszczak. My great grandfather's name was Josef Leszczak. Does anyone out there have any info on this name? please reply.

it is quite popular in Poland I would say. I know somebody who carries that name, however, they migh be your relatives. You need to do a more detailed search IMO.

I wouldn't know. I wa just merely pointing out that you need to do a more detailed (paid) research in order to find your relatives. Sometimes is it a long and painstaking process. I am not in touch with that person, but you need to do some work on your own. I found (was found ) by my realatives who I lost touch with 20 years ago, so I think that it does take a lot of work and persistance. Sinc eit is a popular name, you need to establish closer links first.
