We're two friends who want to take CPE exam in a year.
We're interested in the assistance in our speaking and writing progress. Location is not important, as classes might be conducted via internet.

And there's still much to do :)

If you're interested, please give your rates per 90 minutes and for the writings. Thank you.

well ,the online learning process has developed tremendously in these past years with benefits for our clients and people all over the world with even online professional degrees,at the end everything ties down to individual learning abilities, because even in the four walls of a classroom people dont even get the teacher.we are in a computer age and information technology governs almost everything!when working with our clients we organize workshops,Q&A,and more importantly trial periods to monitor his/her progress.

thank you for your comments anyway, with this we can improve our services tailored to meet the needs of clients.

It hasn't developed that much, only as a supplement to normal, accepted learning methods - i.e. as a way of monitoring homework. The 'online professional degrees' you mention are only generally accepted if the course includes a substantial campus based component.

Sorry, but I have to agree with JonnyM, and it is very good in building a students confidence in spoken English and I myself have used it for practising scientific conference presentations with my wife's colleagues.
But this should ONLY be used as a supplement to the classroom.
For example, peer learning is important as well - seeing other peoples mistakes and learning by them.

I agree. It has to be done on a face-to-face basis. There really is no other effective way.

Hello there.

I specialize in teaching exam English online including Cambridge Proficiency; my website is at ukteachersonline.co.uk where you can see the rates and a description of the general system.

I'd have to disagree with the last speaker. My last CPE student got an A grade in his recent result so it seemed to work well for him.

Best regards

Twice the price of real lessons. I suppose it might be just about worth it for someone living on Pitcairn Island or Rockall who can't get to a language school or private tutor, but in any case they'd have pretty slow internet and would speak English very well anyway.

Can't see the guy getting much business.

He got an A grade because he was likely bloody good in the first place, no offence to your teaching which may be exemplary. I really believe that over-the-table teaching is the only way with CPE. Online is more for natural, free-flow style convos.

Sounds good but cpe REALLY can't be done over the internet.

Course it can - as long as the teacher can do his job properly and the student's willing to work...

If you really don't like the internet - why not look locally for teachers? Most of them will probably be willing to work for food.

Oh I forgot - teaching is SOOOO difficult

No way, if you want good results , i agree with alsmost everybody here that you need to choose face to face class for your CPE exam.

You can attend courses through the internet but it is not efficient , used as a supplementary tool it is ok but just as an additional pedagocical tool, that's all.

Yes. The key to CPE is solid traditional tutoring and considerable and intense self-study.

It all sounds a bit like the old "no way computers gonna find their way into the households, it's all mainframes and laboratories"

Very true. And it once was mainframes and laboratories. E-learning systems however are still at the Turing Machine stage.
