Hello!

I'm looking for an english language native speaker for simple and quick daily part-time job. You will be asked for some quick rewrites and proofreads, nothing fancy, no big and complex articles. Work topic is video-games related. Job is part time, telecommuted, however, candidates from Trojmiasto (Gdansk/Sopot/Gdynia) are prefered. I think this offer is good for those, who live in Poland and teach English.

Requirements sum-up:
- Ability to do rewrites and proofreads, ability to search and combine information.
- 1-2 hours per day of free time (depends on how fast and good you write)
- Constant internet access
- English language native speaker
- Location - Trojmiasto (prefered, but not the most important thing).

Please PM me your email and few words about yourself. Don't forget to mention if you have some experience in writing something for the inet or not.

Regards,
Tim

Greetings Tim,

I'm an English teacher, with 9 years of experience, in Warsaw who mainly teaches private students. Between classes I have some free time in which I could do proofreading.

I have a university education and basic familiarity with Polish. In addition to this I'm an avid video gamer so I know the subject matter well.

The system won't let me contact you directly at the moment. Could you contact me at rahmans@me.com

Best regards,

Omar

P.S. I'll try to get the PM working and contact you directly as well.

Hello Teemu,

I am native English speaker who was born and raised in the USA. I have just finished my MBA studies at Warsaw University of Technology Business School and will be pursuing my PHD studies soon. I have plenty of free time to help you with your proofreading. I've been told by many that I am an excellent writer, and I have a knack for spotting and correcting punctuation and grammar. I am constantly connected to the internet via laptop and smartphone, so you will be able to reach me anytime (within reason). Lastly, I minored in journalism during my undergrad studies, which should help substantially with proofreading and re-writing. Please contact me at your earliest convenience.

Hello Teemu,

I am also a native speaker of English and was born and raised in the USA. I have been teaching English here in Poland for the last three years and I have done quite a few proofreading jobs as well. These proofreads were fairly complicated though, however, it is quite natural for me to find mistakes in punctuation, grammar etc. My Polish is fairly communicative, which has definitely helped me in my teaching and proofreading. If I ever have any problems, my girlfriend is bilingual in both English and Polish, we work together quite often and make a great team. For example, I proofread something and she checks my proofread or vice versa, it helps to create the highest quality outcome.

In addition, I studied art when I was in the US with a focus on concept art and video game design. Therefore, I am very familiar with the language used in the industry. Not to mention, I would be very much enthusiastic to take on such work.

Moreover, I always have free time, usually mid-day, this is a time when I don't have any lessons. I also have some free time in the evenings to work on things as well. I am a modern man, so I, like the rest am connected via internet almost unceasingly.

Also, I live in Olsztyn, which isn't too far from where you are, so if we ever needed to meet to discuss things it wouldn't be much of a problem.

Please email or call me if you are interested, I very much look forward to your response.

Regards,

Steven Myer

Guess you will not be getting the job then lol

Capitalise your I's, all number under ten must be spelled out unless part of a sequence and anticipation is spelt with an 'n' on the end.

Proofreading requires strict attention to detail!

I am not available either :)

Teemu

I've only just joined this forum, so I apologise for the late response. I was wondering if this job vacancy was still available?

Prior to relocating to Warsaw I was a Personal Assistant to an Executive Director, so my typing, accuracy, speed and proofreading skills are excellent.

I am a qualified TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) teacher and currently teach private lessons, so am very flexible with my time during the day.

I am connected to the internet every day, and the subject matter is of interest to me (my partner is a Concept Artist for a video game company in Warsaw).

I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Tim,

Seems like you have been getting a range of 'genuine' replies to your ad. Do you have any further work just now?
I am a real native English speaker, originally from Hastings, but grew up in Scotland. I recently moved to Gdansk from Edinburgh and i'm currently looking for some work to occupy me. I've already done some proof reading for a local company making metal detectors, wwwdotrutusdotcomdotpl and because of no other work I have plenty of time on the internet. Feel free to email/chat with me on gmail or skype

Thanks,

Dear Tim,

I have just moved to Wroclaw and am studying with Teatr Piesn Kozla up until May 2012 (and potentially extending my stay through until December 2012). I have 5 years' professional experience in Development and Fundraising for UK organisations and a central requirement of this work is to have excellent writing skills and close attention to detail. I have extensive experience of copy writing and proofing in a range of contexts and am extremely efficient. I am based in Wroclaw but have constant internet access so can work remotely on daily assignments. My email address is rea_mole@yahoo.co.uk.

I look forward to hearing from you,

Rea

Is this a universal rule?

Pretty much so (although I have seen house style manuals which say up to twenty).

As for the date, doesn't exactly demonstrate they pay much attention to detail, does it?
