Czesc moj Polski companions!! Mam zona Polski (2 lata) i dwa dziecci.

I`ve fallen in love with Poland big time and have been visiting Polska for the last 7 lata. Don`t get me wrong I will always be Cymro (Walliski) but I also like to think that I`m Polish second.

My wife and I have been talking for a while about moving to Polska to live and I was looking for what jobs that are available for a guy like me in the the Torun, Rypinia area.
My sector for the last 7 years has been working as a security gaurd but I`m looking for something more productive (since I`m only 27 years old) and I`m a good learner.

I can speak and write in Polish fairly good. My first language is Welsh followed by English.

Are there any Forigners :-)) here like me trying to get work in Polska like me?

What do Poles look for when they are hireing English Speaking people to work for them?

Would Polish people be interested in learning the Welsh language?

Dzienkuję

Unfortunately, the only option is teaching. I know its a hrd pill to swallow but that is the reality out here. Most expats on this site will vouch for this. Unfortunately without Polish, no company would take you on.

There's little chance of teaching Welsh outside a university I'm afraid. There is a uni in Torun but I don't know how interested they are in Celtic stuff. There is (or used to be) a Celtic department in Lublin (I have an Irish textbook written in Polish) but that's pretty far from Torun. You should definitely contact these people:

and these, they might have an idea or two....

Maybe. Just maybe - as Mafketis says, there's a possibility that a university will find a need for a Welsh speaker.

What's your educational background?

If you mean Rypin then you are nuts to think you will find anything. Its got very high unemployment and one of the lowest average wages in Poland. However if you get yourself a car then you might just be able to make a living teaching if you add Rypin to some neighbouring towns.

Advantage with teaching is that they will take anybody. Otherwise no chance in a normal job unless you are qualified in something like IT or accounting.

Also here:

But it's in Poznań (also far from to Toruń)

I'm not sure if you can teach any language in academic school not having a higher education degree.

In the cities, that's just not true anymore. Even "method" schools are getting to the point where they expect a degree+some sort of certificate. There's enough about this topic elsewhere - essentially, turning up and saying "hello, I speak English, give us a job" just isn't true.

In theory, you can't. But a blind eye might be turned in regards to a native Welsh speaker - it's not like there's many in Poland. His Welsh would have to be perfect though.

One and a half by my count (i.e. one and a bloke who claims to be a native speaker of Welsh but caught out on his grammar the one night he met a Polish girl who spoke Welsh - was pretty amusing, the doorman threw him out in four languages just in case he didn't get the message.

Sounds like you don't have a higher education. This will make it extremely difficult to find work in Poland.

No. It's just not as useful or practical as English, German, or Russian etc.

Educated people. Education is highly valued in Poland, without it you are at a disadvantage.

Dzienkuję.

I'm a native speaker of Welsh and use it everyday. Proper Welsh ;-)..

I have teaching experience so teaching Welsh is a possible option. I understand Rypin is a poor area but I drive so I could drive around. I'm a qualified Importer of products and Have a business. I suppose you could say that I'm a business man but small time.

Driving instruction, personal fitness instructor and teaching Welsh are activities that I have been involved in.

Thank you for giving me insight tho.
