Quoting: spell of bliss, Post #1
since poland is near russia, do soviet or russian movies get released in poland? i thought that those movies would be nothing but silly, cheap, poor communist movies(kinda like what u'd expect from a north korean movie) but after having read about them such is most likely not the case. when u look at imdb, many of them like voyna i mir or my name is ivan etc. there's even a soviet version of sherlock holmes! they get mostly positive reviews and ratings although i'm certain outside of the fomer soviet union, these movies have reached only a small audience.

I know the vast majority of u must be russophilic, but…
I am not sure that the person who started this topic, does know the meaning of russophilic. (the word is spelled incorrectly, if there is such a word, I did not find it in the dictiomary)
I personally like Russian literature, art.
Some of the famous Russian writers whose novels were made into movies are Dostoyevsky and Tolstoy; movies such as: Anna Katarina, War and Peace, Crime and Punishment, etc.
I do not think that Russian movies are silly, cheap, poor, etc.
I WONDER WHO IS U, (
majority of u must )
