Koło domu? correct?

"Koło domu" is translated as "near the house" ,but is that correct? Koło means circle,ring,round,wheel. So i think this means "around the house".
I would think the correct word is "blisko"

Am i right or wrong?

I only failed to se the logic cause of both my dicionaries said koło means circle,round,ring and wheel.
But i get a little wiser every time.

I think if it is movement around the house then there is another word, dookolo too.

Polish geography for beginners:
koło Warszawy = "wheel of Warszawa" (Warszawa was an old car model, from the 60's-70's)
koło Łodzi = "wheel of the Boat"
koło Poznania = "wheel of Cognition/Knowledge"
koło Przemyśla = "wheel thinkng over/reflecting wheel"
koło Kołobrzegu "wheel of Wheelcoast"
koło Piły = "wheel of the Saw"

(of course the true meaning of those expressions is: near Warsaw, near Łódź, near Poznań, near Przemyśl, near Kołobrzeg, near Piła)
