KRAKOW-visit next week

Hi i have been given a free flight to krakow.
was hoping to have get some info.

1 can anyone recommend cheap hotel or guest house near the town centre!

2 what should i make a point of doing- sight seeing etc

3 where should i go for a night out?

4 are there any foods i should defineatley try?

5 one for my brother how much does 50gr of golden virginia tobacco cost?

1. a lot of choose from - i don't think any of them would be booked up at this time of the year.

2. i suggest you to take a visitor's guide and start from that. most attractions are in the market square area unless you want to visit Wieliczka, for example.

3. plenty of pubs, discos, restaurants. again - i would keep close to the center if possible.

4. popular foods like golabki, pierogi, bigos, schabowy ("pork chop"), there are good Polish fish (like "szczupak"). you'll get everything in a good restaurant.

5. this I don't know. Is it some kind of cigarette?

go to the old town there. beautiful. loads of fun.

tobacco...... around 16 zlotys for 50g of virginia i believe.

and the good thing is you can bring a load of the stuff back because it doesn't come under the same customs control as cigs, which you are only allowed 200 at the moment.
