Hi everyone - my name is Agnes (Agnieszka) and I'm a first year college student studying in Chicago. My family emigrated to the US from Poland in '94 and after about 11 years in Saturday Polish School I can still speak, read and write in Polish fairly well (you'd hope so!). However almost all of my extended family lives in Poland and having only been back there twice I feel a bit of a disconnect with the 'real' Poland. After finding this forum I'm hopeful that by keeping in contact with other Poles and the Polish community over the web I can continue to explore this important part of my heritage. I'm really interested in learning more about the Polish take on both global and national events as well as discovering how Poland has developed over the past decade with a coming into it's own and it's role as an EU nation. If anyone can point me to any further resources for such discourse I'd greatly appreciate it -- things such as Polish news/culture blogs or news videos from Poland updated on a regular basis would be amazing. I can't wait to explore this community further - do zobaczenia!
