Free and accurate Online Polish-English / English-Polish translator?

Has anyone used one? I see a lot of generic translators on Amazon, etc- the kind of thing that translates 15 languages (and not very well judging by the reviews). Does anyone know if there's a specific English/Poilsh one in existence, and is it any good?

Or has anyone used a mulit-language translator that does the job when it comes to the Polish language?

There are online ones. They are not 100% yet but they are free.

I found the google language tool pretty good to be honest. Not in other languages (Russian).
The google one is created by users also, but only after approval; some words and phrases( more obscure) may be a bit 'off' but over all it's not bad

plus with the Google one if you tweak the English words you can then make whatever language (target) actually seem correct I've been known to do it a few times and find it works and i have submitted some better translations where i know the words to be wrong for correction :)

Also tip when using Google one is to re translate the translated version back into your native language to make sure it seems right before you tweak it :)

done that for hives (subject from this forum) which where translated as 'ul' (correct) - beehive
but in med it was 'pokrzywka' :)

Thanks all, but I'm looking for a 'pocket' translator, something I can take with me on the move. I already have translation tools, etc on my laptop, but don't want to have to lug it around with me.

Do you have an iPhone or iPod Touch? There's a decent (and free) translator in the App Store.

No, but I have a Nokia N97 - you've given me an idea there, Nokia have translation tools in their OVI store, and i think there's third party apps out there too. Thanks.

I have N97 mini, you can add Polish/English to the basic dictionary app for free

but don't be surprised when there isn't a translation or it's wrong.. also, sentence structure in polish is not the same as english.. get a phrase book and learn some basic everyday phrases and then go from there.

With poltrane : try koło! It means circle. Translator says no translation. Try kółko : circle as in circle of people ? Translator says no translation.

Doesn't sound that great to me!

Website Translator (Polish-English)

I'm looking for a website that i can paste a webpage link that is English and get a Polish translated website. Google used to do it. I was able to copy the translated link and send it off to my relative who would be able to read it in Polish. What is out there that can still do that?

I do not understand why some people claim that an electronic dictionary cannot be as accurate as a dictionary in hard copy. My electronic versions of the Oxford PWN Polish-English and English-Polish dictionaries contain exactly the same content as the hard back volumes I purchased. Incidentally, about a year ago, my father purchased the hard back copies and a CD. But the CD did not include an electronic version of the dictionary! Apparently, the CD version of the Oxford-PWN English-Polish dictionary is not available for purchase in the United States. Since it was not available for purchase, and I live in the United States, I downloaded the Oxford PWN English-Polish and Polish-English dictionaries in electronic format for installation on computers running Windows using a torrent site (and a VPN connection). The publisher lost no revenue because it was impossible for me to purchase what I downloaded for free. The program must be executed from an external drive or from a networked computer. That's where the executable files must be located. It does not work if you try to run it on the computer in which the executable files are located. I assume that applies when the program has been downloaded for free. I do not use CDs. The files are on a networked computer. I can find what I am looking for in a few seconds instead of leafing through a large dictionary. Also, I just downloaded the New Kosciuszko Foundation English-Polish/Polish-English dictionaries onto my IPhone. It costs only $13.00 to install it on an iPhone, iPad, Mac, Android device, or a computer running Windows 10. That is an amazing price for such a high-quality dictionary (though no dictionary and no human translator is 100% accurate all the time). The Great English-Polish Dictionary for Kindle is also surprisingly helpful and inexpensive.
I felt the suggestions to learn Polish were obnoxious and not even intended to be helpful as a response to someone seeking a way to engage in an activity that is a prerequisite for learning Polish in the first place.

I forgot to mention that if you do not own a Kindle, you can download Kindle for PC or Kindle for Mac for free, and can use the The Great English-Polish Dictionary, which contains two million entries. It is an excellent dictionary that is available for a ridiculously low price, which is also the case with The New Kosciuszko Foundation American English-Polish/Polish-American English Dictionary.
