We need more context, but general it is a word musiec, which means have to\must. Musisz means you have to (do sth).

Is potrzebujesz ever used in the context of "you need to do this" as a command and not a question?

The impersonal form "trzeba" is much more common, and it can well be translated as "have to", as well as "need to". In English, there really isn't all that much difference between "have to" and "need to". They asre essentially synonymous.

It depends on the context, and the two words ARE similar with subtle differences, but generally I think of "musisz" as you need to DO something like in "You need to fix your car." and "potrezebujesz" as you need something like in "You need a car." You COULD use "musisz" in the "you need a car" sense, but you can't use "potrzebujesz" in the "you to need to fix your car" sense.

I will expand the 'car' example from above to show you the difference:
"I need a new car" - Potrzebuję nowy samochód, you CAN'T say "Muszę nowy samochód"
"I need to buy a new car" on the other hand can be translated into " Muszę kupić nowy samochód" but you can also say "Potrzebuję kupić nowy samochód" as you see there is a difference in what 'need' refers to. In the first example need is used with a noun 'I need a car' whereas in the second one with a verb' I need to buy ...' .

Other very important difference is that:
you must do sth -muszisz to robić
you must not do sht - nie wolno Tobie tego robić
you don't have to do sth - nie musisz tego robić

English negation of must is not the same as Polish negation of "musieć"

Good luck with your further research!
