Government/EU Funding to start a new business in Poland (Warsaw)?

I heard rumors that there are Government and/or E.U. funds to assist in starting a business. Has anybody heard about this, and if so, who I should contact? It will be in the Warsaw area.

I'm not aware of any start up funding though. You need to come with capital already in hand. There are start up loans available that are backed by EU money, most banks can help out in securing one.

There are funds, but they are usually very highly targeted at minority groups.

In broad terms, what are you looking for? You're not going to get money to start a language school in Warsaw, but you might very well get funding to start an English nursery in Podkarpackie.

That do not belong on european soil.

That reminds me. I must purchase a bottle of Krug so I can pop 'er when the EU eventually crumbles. Ive one on ice already for the milk snatcher.

Default, default, default.

What, you're surprised that the Polish government funds young people, people over 50, women returning to work, people living in economic blackspots and the disabled - the exact minority groups that have potential, but often people are unwilling to hire them?

The point, after all, is to generate employment.

Each voidship has a certain amount of money each year for specific sectors. If you go to the EU office on ul Krucza or ul Smocka they will give you the information. Also you can apply for a certain amount of money if you have been unemployed for longer than 6 months. This is probably what you are talking about.

Thank you all for the advice, but perhaps bad news if the money is mostly targeted at minorities as it's a Warsaw native who is thinking of setting up their own business. However, we'll look into it. Thanks again.

HI everybody ,
I was exactly looking for this topic but i didnt find proper answer in my case ,
Im student in poland and i would like to start my own biz here ,
Im thinking about Start restaurant and i think in Wroclow / krakow .
question is ,
which kind of company i should regist first to start this work and after that apply for EU fund ,
and EU will give this fund for such a case ?

in addition should i show any Invest or bank statement in my Documents for apply for Fund ? and how this fund will given to me ,

as i can see just 50% of all money wil given from Eu but it will given before start biz and help me to start it or i should start and they will give when they see i started my Biz already ?

Thanks

so to make sure I understand properly, you want to open a restaurant in a major Polish city and you want the EU to cough up half of the start up fees?

please confirm

Forget it. The EU isn't going to give you one grosz.

Don't bother even asking - you're not going to get the money to open a restaurant.
