Hello everybody,

I will be soon be relocated to Krakow, and I was wondering what kind of clothes to bring to survive the polish winter :)

I'm from France, during our winter temperatures goes somewhere between 5 and -5 degrees. Sometimes we have a couple of days reaching -10 degrees in the morning but it's very rare.

In your opinion is it more interesting to buy warm clothes such as wool socks for example in Poland or can I use the same as in France ?

How do polish people wear basically ?

Also, could you give a hint of the climate from November to March in Krakow, please.

Thank you for your time

We are 80km south east of Krakow - last winter we saw day temperatures of minus 20 f0r several weeks. Bear that in mind.

That's some place in the moutains.

Winters are colder in Poland than in France generally. But it's also healthier (at least compared to Paris climate), as long as you wear good clothes.

In Cracow, it should be snowy in that period (November-March), and temperatures on average should be around -5°C (usually between -10°C and +5°C).

The coldest month should be January or February.

You should probably wear warmer clothes than you would in France, but it's alright, Cracow is not Siberia, don't worry.

Actually, that's Nowy Sacz, which is at least 20 km north of the mountains - though I can't deny that the mountains have an impact on our weather, we ain't in them. In fact, we're in a sheltered valley, which gives us even colder temps.
