My Great Grandfather was Town Administrator In the town of Osiek K
Oswiecim - Now the province of Malopolskie. Prior Biala- and MY question
would be is there still pictures like these available from 1890-1910?
and is it the town in which they lived that holds pictures of these men?
his last name was Luranc, Andrzej and MY grandmother told me her father
was like a mayor in Poland, I know the parish in which he was born, I know
his birth date, I have no infomation other then what I was told about
his political career, and would like to add this to my tree :D

I was told by a friend that being a mayor in Poland -would be called
town administrator, so can someone help me to locate his picture?
or if someone can visit the town Osiek, near Polanka Wielka and check
if there is one of him there? I never seen a picture of him, but knowing
what my Great Uncle Jozef Looks like will help me to know if I see it.
My great Uncle Jozef immigrated to Detroit in 1893 and I have been
in touch with this family .
if anyone can help me please let me know. email Nightwhisper19@aol.com

Thanks so much.
Patricia
Michigan.

I know this is an old post and I can't find an answer to it

But it does bring to mind the idea of photos and newspaper archives.

Does anyone have any addresses.

yikes it is an old one alright, digging in the old back rooms eh? :)

Do you think it could be as simple as contacting the town officials office of today?

I was thinking of being able to do an on-line search rather than writing and possibly not getting a reply.

email them alternatively, you'll definitly get no reply if you dont try.

online search for that period id imagine, like you, that the odds are bad, worse than not getting a reply id imagine.

I must be getting all the good civil servants the way some people go on about it.
In all my several dealings, they've handled them quickly, correctly & to my satisfaction

but i know, you live there and know better (ie the day to day)

I wasn't thinking of me. I thought someone might be able to add to the Genealogy Resourses thread.

this is really stupid, cause it was mine when I first found all of you :)

I dont think any exists for him, yes great gramps was town admin and
he lived past the war ( can you believe it :) )

he was born in like 1860's and died just after the war.. thats why when I was
told that the cemetarys have people buried right over others, I was bummed.

its like theres nothing left of his time here, not even a grave.

maybe they do things different in other towns, that is why I asked.
is there such a thing as pictures of political people who served as mayors?

if this was that easy, and there was a actual picture of him, I would
fall over in my chair right now!

Daffy I have looked and looked ( one eyeball fell out put it back in) and looked!

at first I didnt even know what you called a Mayor in Poland..

my dads side they were buergers? but that is a landlord right?
so I have landlords and mayors and military so far.

this give me an idea :) be ready for a new topic.
