międzyrzeczaninie - maybe not so long, but difficult to pronoun, means people from międzyrzec

There is a lot of words longer than 18 letters. Just think about cardinal numbers in Polish, for example:
siedemtysięcyczterystapięciesiątadziewiąta (osoba w kolejce) - 7459th (person in a queue) :-) But of course the queue may be longer ;-)

Konstantynopolitanczykowianeczka is partly old-fashionable now because "Konstantynopol" is called "Stambuł" since a long time ago :-) Konstantynopolitanczykowianeczka is rather a joke :-)

Thread attached on merging:
LONGEST POLISH WORD?

Some say the longest word in the Polish language is KONSTANTYNOPOLITAŃCZYKOWIANECZKA
(meaning: the unmarried daughter of an inhabitant of Constantinopole).
Was this a legitimate word in actual use or was it coined for the express purpose of becoming the longest Polish word? Anyone know?

Edyta and Zgubiony are correct.

In Polish language the longest word will always be an ordinal number (liczebnik porządkowy). As a rule you always write them together so take your pick. I believe this one has 90 characters but you might find a longer one. Possibilities are endless.

Stosiedemdziesiąttrzymilionyczterystadwadzieściadziewięćtysięcytrzysta sześćdziesiątytrzeci.

Or this one, it has 135 characters.

Czterystaczterdzieściczterymiliardyczterystaczterdzieściczterymilionyc zterystaczterdzieściczterytysiąceczterystaczterdziestoczteroletni.

And if you don’t buy this argument haw about a word from other languages’ that’s polonized.
This one has 43 characters.

Stosiedemdziesiąttrzymilionyczterystadwadzieściadziewięćtysięcytrzysta sześćdziesiątytrzeci.

the correct spelling is (in my opinion, but I don't have time for a reasearch now):
Sto siedemdziesiąt trzy miliony czterysta dwadzieścia dziewięć tysięcy trzysta sześćdziesiątytrzeci

you guys are trying to create a monster :)

a simple long word in Polish (a word that you may actually use in real life, unlike KONSTANTYNOPOLITAŃCZYKOWIANECZKA)
could be indicating a person's age:

dwiewięćdziesięciodziewięciolatka (33 letters) - a 99 years old woman (of course according to Michal it's a sci-fi, because life expentancy in Poland is barely 55 years or so)

LOL :)

There are two rules to write ordinal numbers in Polish. You either write them out in a written form or use numbers but you can’t use both. When in written form you write them together. For practical reasons larger numbers (anything above 100) are usually written in the number form and the smaller ones are in written form. For the most part it’s in number form when it comes to larger numbers. Rules might have changed and you might be Wright but that’s the way I remember them.
