'rob mi loda'

the correct version is zrob mi loda, but if it worked for you you must have pulled some cash out, if you know what I mean;)

Słyszeli¶cie o ambitnej blondynce?

Chciała zrobić więcej lodów niż Algida.

Translation:

Did you hear about the ambitious blonde?

She wanted to make more ice cream than Algida. (it's funnier in Polish)

I loved it actually. I went to warsaw Old Town and looked around before we drove off to Kazimierz Dolny for the night and went and visited a place called Janowiec where there is an old castle on the hill. We were invited to a bonfire. A very fulfilling weekend but I did too much. The only thing was that the British pound is so weak against the zloty. When I was last in Warsaw, a one day bus pass cost 2zl. 70 now it is 9zl with only 3zl 60 to the British Pound? I doubt if I will be able to afford to re visit the country but everybody understood me-even after all these years of forgetting so much language. The first question was always 'how long have you been living in England?' obviously I can not pass myself off as a first generation Pole!!

Have you changed or updated your view of Poland or the Polish?

On the last evening of my stay in Warsaw, knowing that it was to be my last visit, I walked around the Central Railway Station recollecting my times during the Communist era and as I came out and went to the bus stop for my 175 back to the flat the bus was leaving the stop. And guess what? The driver stopped the bus for me and opened the doors! What service! The bus was full and when I got on the bus, I thanked the driver. Some of the other passengers were amazed that both I was so polite thanked the driver and that there was such good customer service for me as an individual. However, I think it will be along time before I will venture back to such a country.
