Looking for a Finance job in Poland

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knew of any good sites with English speaking jobs within Finance, I have been looking around for the last few weeks and have found it really difficult to find many good sites which show a list of finance jobs within Poland.

Ideally I would love to work in Krakow but would consider other parts of Poland aswell.

Is there a list of good websites which I can search for jobs on?

I have sent my CV to a handful of companies and have had a couple of rejections and I am just waiting on others. It probably doesnt help that I dont speak Polish but I have got good experience as I have worked in various companies over the last 5 years since finishing uni.

I have tried and tried to find a finance related role in Krakow, but still cannot find anything and I am looking to move over there in Feb or possibly sooner if possible.

Does anybody know of any good recruitment agencies which are based in the UK or Poland which will look for finance jobs in Poland for English speakers (with no Polish!)

Is it that hard to learn Polish ? Whatever i would recommend you a company offers job to people Polish or foreigners .. It was called Randstad and has offices all around Poland .. Good luck all..

I think Warsaw seems to be a better place for finance career, but I may be wrong. Haven't been in Krakow for ages.

For example Grafton recruits foreigners to various companies. Also, Thomson Reuters seems to be recruiting good amount of people. Many of the centers in Poland offer outsourcing services especially in financing.

And yes, Polish is not the easiest of languages but I guess this matter has been extensively discussed in this forum :-)

Little bit of advice I have worked in Financial Services in the UK for well over 10 years, now in a senior position. If I was employing and saw a CV from someone who had left uni 5 years ago and has already worked for serveral companies I would not employ you as you do not seem to have any commitment at all to a company so would not waste my time and that would be in the UK never mind someone from a different country.

Sorry just my view on things.

I made a very similar post to this on another thread. Poles simply don't understand it. And I truely believe that a lot of them are going to be left out in the cold at some point in the future.

This is a point made here time and time again and you know what, sometimes you just have to let them live in their ignorance

Many finance jobs require you to be fluent in not only English & Polish, but a 3rd language. Only knowing English means a much harder search.

Also Warsaw pays better in finance (vs Krakow) and has much more finance/actg firms.

Question for the OP - what do you mean by "finance"? Can you be more specific?This could mean working in the accounts payable depatrment of an engineering firm, or it could mean an analyst in an investment bank.

Unless you've had your head in the sand for the past 12 months, the financial services industry is really struggling, and few institutions are taking on new staff.

I have a recruitment agency in Krakow and we try to help out foreign nationals (I am one of them). I also initially came out to Krakow 20 months ago to work as a Finance Manager so the jobs are out there.

Finance jobs in Krak are available. Apart from using my company (of course), I'd advise you look to apply direct to the like of CapGemini, Shell, IBM, HSBC, PWC, State Street.

Not being able to speak the language won't help, but the fact you have native English may help as well as your cultural background as many of the International companies want to get a mixed culture and do employ foreign nationals for this purpose. However many of them transfer someone who is already working for them in the UK/States etc to bring over the company culture.
