Looking for original clothing designers,distributors, factory owners

I will be in poland for the summer and am intersted in meeting with some designers, clothing distributors, and/or factory owners producing unique and original clothing... I am not intersted in chain store clothes.... I run a clothing business and currnetly buy from suppliers in china, thailand, malaysia, and vietnam..... you're better off putting an ad in a fashion news letter / ,mag to get this kind of thing, I worked for a large fashion retailer in the UK and the only foot in the door for people was them turning up in HQ reception with samples...or word of mouth....good luck

Apparently poland has been hot in the production of tiles, for floors, roofs, bathrooms...especially spanish style tiles... anyone know about this trend? or is it poland has been hot in buying tiles??? hmm lots of money to be made now that that Poland is in the EU. just gotta figure it out

as far as i know only individuals (like you) , most of them ASP graduates, are independent designers in pl. i mean really independent - their clothes are unique and one of a kind ... many of them have their profiles and portfolios on myspace- i know it may sound funny, but i guess it is also a good way to communicate...
and many of them have these connections in vietnam, malaysia, indonesia etc. where they can expolit some folks and buy many things much cheaper ... i know it's just a harsh reality but it really pisses me off. and i really like designers clothing although it's so expensive sometimes. .

Yea I remember lots of indepedent stores when i was last there... its good to hear things havent changed....it would relaly suck to see poland taken over by large department stores and orignal deisgners bought out by them.....
