Looking for a unique ( I think ) travel service through Poland

I have a friend, an older gentleman, he's 77 years old, but in great health, who's interested in traveling to Poland, along with his wife. His wife's health is also good, and she is a bit younger than he is. He speaks some Polish, I don't think he wife speaks much. They would like to travel to Poland, but don't want to be part of a tour group. However, they want access to guides in the cities they visit. For example, if they fly into Krakow, they would like a guide to show them the city, and perhaps ultimately, assist them on to their next destination, where another guide would be available. They are Americans, so any guides would have to speak English. I have no idea what their budget is, or time frame. Does anyone have links to travel firms that offer this type of service?

If they are pre-booking their hotels, would the hotel's Information kiosk be able to help them pre-arrange personal guides? Just a thought...

That's a great place to start, that's for sure. The suggestion is appreciated. Perhaps I'll direct them to a travel agent who can book them in the right hotels.
