Your arrogance is unbelievable .....!

Why do the English have this arrogance that they have an 'automatic' right to qualify for the major tournaments ....... getting a draw against Croatia was all that was needed to qualify for Euro2008 and look what happened ! ...... and let's not forget Wembley 1973 against Poland :o))

England is not the superforce of international football that it believes it is ....... after all what has England won apart from the 1966 World Cup, and that was down to a dubious decision by a linesman as to whether the ball had fully crossed the goal-line :o)

I know that Poland only has a couple of 3rd place in World Cup tournaments to write about, but Poland has never claimed to be a football super power.

International football is progressing so much , with unlikely teams like Greece winning Euro, and the improvement of the African nations, that the chances of England winning a major tournament is becoming less likely.

The fact that the English Premiership, which is seen as the best in the world, is made up of predominantly foreign players, is yet another reason to have cause for concern for the English national scene.

Let's see what Mr Fabio Capello can achieve .......

I wouldn't say it was arrogance... just confidence :) We have some terrific players in our squad but what England lacked was a half decent manager. Sven Goran Erikkson was a defensive manager. He brought us his Italian tactics. England are an attacking team not a defensive. Fabio Capello has also mentioned this. Another manager we had was Steve MaClaren. He was AWFUL. School boy tactics which I could have done better myself. Taking an umberella to the final game against Croatia. He didn't take it seriously. We have a top class manager that will get the best out of the likes of the dazzling Aaron Lennon and Sean-Wright Phillips.
Sepp Blatter is drawing up plans to limit foreign players. He has mentioned teams in the future will have to field at LEAST 5 home grown players rising each season. The future is not gloomy.

what type of tactics will Fabio Capello ...an Italian bring ??

I don't think you can only blame the managers ...... although who thought Steve MaClaren was a suitable candidate for the job really needs his head examined !

The players themselves have a lot to answer for also ..... don't you agree ?
I don't deny there are quality players in the England squad, but for some reason they don't perform .... and i think they need to play with a passion for their country which I feel is lacking in some of them. Maybe they're too busy thinking about their huge paypackets and what supercar they will buy next !

Oh we Germans knew all about english confidence!

For the last world cup in Germany the english team was build up as a possible winner by their media...they got their blessings from the queen herself, even the the victory parade in London was already planned! (No joke here).

For all others (especially Germans) they had only haughty contempt. Their players were called the "golden generation", belonging to the top elite in the world blah blah blah!

No, that is not confidence but arrogance and a totally misunderstanding of the true place of english football and english players past, present and the (foreseeable) future.
Just because your media tells you what you want to hear doesn't make it true!

A bit more realism and respect for other teams would do you good!
And then the shock about being kicked out again in the preliminary rounds or another shoot out failed won't be that bad....
(There was alot of international glee and laughter for your blamage against the croats...ever wondered why?)

My mate got an email from the german supporters club saying that hes got two tickets for germany vs. croatia.

My application with the german fa is still on status "application accepted" which apparently isnt a good sign :(
