My boyfriend is polish.I am not .. he is a lovely guy-very chivalrous.caring, sweet, romantic(lovely polish traits!). I love him.he is lovely in every way. Last yr he took me to his home.

The followin reason is why i need to clarify what is culturally acceptable in poland as it is KILLIN my brain. (as I mentioned I am not polish!)

while there, we met up with some old time friends of his. Of which, two were female. one he was, in particular very friendly with. I noticed before i was even introduced to her how he glanced at her as she removed her coat. Throuout the nite he spoke more with her than the rest of us...constantly smiling. Not much was said to me.

I asked him about this afterwards he said that she was an old time friend that he enjoyed catchin up with, but at the time, I couldnt help but feel like he was flirting. I couldnt understand what was being said (that didnt help) .

but sometimes I feel he is more chatty with the ladies....is this a polish thing? what I am tryin to ask is what is considered culturally flirtin by you guys and girls? what would and wouldnt you tolerate from a man ?

I know polish men are mostly gentleman-For instance, it is ok to arm link a married woman home etc, but where does the line finish?

he also asked a girl he knows to dance once at a party we were at... what do you think of this ?

Hard to say really without being there, it is most likely that it's as he says and they were just catching up. And I wouldn't say asking for a dance is flirting, in fact I often feel it's a necessity in a lot of situations and it would be considered rude not to ask someone to dance.

Shocking, you should have slapped his face.

one he was, in particular very friendly with

Why.....I never.......how dare he?

he said that she was an old time friend that he enjoyed catchin up with,

Nah, they were reliving their torrid romantic past.

he also asked a girl he knows to dance once at a party we were at

Shocking, never heard of such a thing.

it is ok to arm link a married woman home etc, but where does the line finish?

Usually in the woman's bed.

what do you think of this ?

You have great potential in becoming a possessive nuisance.

Oscar Wilde agreed with you but there is also a strong contingent of those who feel that puns are the lowest form of wit.
In either or any case, that's better than being witless.

I am not Polish and am still in the process of learning about Polish culture in this forum(as well as about Polish men) but this much I can say : FLIRTING IS A GLOBAL PHENOMENON, not just being done by Polish men.(but yes, based on experience some can be incredible flirts).

It's not really all about cultural differences, just be vigilant and trust your instincts as to whether it's just harmless flirting or a dangerous one.
