Hi everyone! I just want to ask about divorce!

I was married just 3 mos ago in a civil court. 2 mos after my husband and I found out that i was pregnant and he wanted me to have an abortion. I did not agree to it. It is an unplanned pregnancy. Now he threatens me divorce and to DEPORT me back to Asia. I really dont know what I did wrong. He let me out of his house with a very small support. He is a known lawyer and I am not even working. What can I do? Now he is back with his X-gf in his house. help pls........

I think you should contact a lawyer. That's sad your husband is a lawyer himself...

Anyway, you're officially married to your him so if he's messing up the marriage then you can sue him somehow. Here's a forum site regarding different laws, but it's in Polish so you can get someone who writes in Polish and ask questions there.

forumprawne.org

good luck

he wanted me to have an abortion

Abortion is illegal in Poland (except in case of rape and health issues of mother or baby). He is still the father and will have obligation to the child. In fact you might even be able to stay in Poland because of the baby. I don't think he would allow this to be brought up as a reason for divorce in Poland.

He can't make you have an abortion, and he can't divorce you after two months and have you deported.
You need to go straight to a lawyer and find out your situation. I am pretty sure he also can't just leave you abandoned with nowhere to live and no money, and pregnant with his child, as well.

Can a pregnant woman get a divorce in Poland? In the US she cannot, that's why I'm wondering.

I would imagine anyone can get divorced anytime they like, but they both have to sign papers. What you might be referring to is that he can't be the one requesting divorce due to her being to blame (even if he wanted to claim that he is not the father) .This would make sense as you can't determine who the father is (in a non invasive way) until the child is born.

Incorrect. If one party is not contactable or fails to respond then the other gets a result.

Wrong,You can apply for one and can get it easily with mutual consent or can drag along for years fighting atleast in NJ

In the US, state law controls divorce laws. Each state is different.

*sigh* That's up to the state. That is not something controlled by the federal government.

In fact, the former Ginny Cha Barber got a divorce from adulterous ex Giants player Tiki Barber.

Jeez...OK, fine! You won't get a divorce in Texas while you're pregnant!!

Yet, that was the state that "Roe" came from. Irony.

My dealings with lawyers has taught me that they make up the law to suit themselves and will outright lie (part of their job) to suit themselves.

You need to get a lawyer who will put this bastard in his place right away, his ******** will stop immediately.

He can have his wife and child deported? ********.

Technically you are right, but you have to wait for a while (and I think its measured in years, not in months, but correct me if I'm wrong).

But since my comment was related to PGTX who wrote that woman can't get divorce in USA and was wondering if it isn't the same in Poland, it is actually irrelevant that they can get divorced if one of the partners disappears and cannot be contacted - since this is obviously not the case here.
