Is possible to love someone who you haven't seen?

Just wait til they meet. It's too soon to say whether she really loves that guy or not. As Pawian said, she probably loves the image of that guy. You can do nothing but wait til they meet for the first time.

I don't see true love really being able to form without physically being present with them. You can certainly like someone enough to want to meet them or at least try. Hell you may even think everything is fine and dandy, but it's best to hope for the best and expect for the worst in these circumstances.

Randal:
Let's face it, you can know someone for years and still not really know them.

My 1st husband and I dated for 4 1/2 years. 8 months after we married he beat me !!!

I have also fallen in love with a Polish guy by e-mail. He says I don't know the real "HIM" he's right too. Until you spend some physical time together you can never truly know someone.

the longer you talk online the further you drift from reality when it comes to the other person. if you talk for say, a week or two and meet up somewhere for a chat and a drink, you won't really have this perfect image of them in your head yet, well if you do at least you won't be hanging onto it for months or years before the first meeting. basically, it won't hurt so much if there is no chemistry between you when you meet in person shortly after the initial meeting online and a few conversations. it's a bit like meeting people in bars and clubs, where everybody will be drunk and you give someone your number, then they call you and arrange a date. you never know what they're like, all you know is that you were making out with them for an hour and they were 'fit' ha ha. or is it just me?? :D ah good times...

"Is possible to love someone who you haven't seen?"

Guys please don't deviate from the topic.

How can u say it's not possible ? To fall in love you don't have to know everything abt that person. If you love that person you accept everything about that person. But ya if u want to know how that person is in bed then ofcourse it's not possible ;)

nobody said it's not possible, it very much is possible, but it's a very naive thing to do, falling in love with someone whom you never actually met.

What's right and what's wrong no one can decide. I mean noone has seen future. People meet in night clubs...fall in love...get married..get divorced. Does that mean you cannot fall in love with someone in night club ?
There's no problem in giving it a try once you feel that you love someone. But ofcourse it can be much more difficult than normal relationship.

yes but in nightclubs people interact with each other, they talk and touch. how do you know who is really sitting on the other side of the screen? how do you know you will want to touch them when they are standing in front of you?

How do you know how long you wud like to touch them ? ;) Do you want to touch Tom Cruise....i;m sure you do ;) N most probably you have not met him.

Comeon these days there is webcam, and skype etc.. You can know how the person is. I'm not saying its like real life and they should meet as soon as possible.

if it`s possible not to like someone you have never met, then it must be possible to love someone you have never met?

Justysias has got a valid point.

you might fall in love via a webcam, but the risk of disappointment is much higher than seeing the person in flesh for first time(nightclub or party).

it's just a feeling i'm getting. and please read what i said, i never said it was impossible to fall in love online!! i just said you have to be careful.

Ya but the thing is you don't plan to fall in love. Once you are in love you just know what to do.

Nice point :D
JustysiaS:

See it just took you 10 mins to decide you don't like me. And i am sure you won't like me even if we meet in real. Your opinion won't change ;)
So isn't 1 year enough for that girl to decide who she loves and what she wants ?

i know you didn`t and it`s just a something i threw into the mix. i would replace love with feelings for someone, however over time that may change to love. i agree with your careful comment though, fantasy nearly allways beats reality.

it's enough for her to decide if she wants and likes the guy she knows off the internet, of course it is more than enough. but i fear that once they see each other face to face the spark might not be there. i've been through this ok, i was so sure this was the guy i wanted. then i met him and i wanted to run! i'm not trying to discourage anyone, but getting your hopes up and letting the imagination take over reason can be really painful if the person is not what you thought they were.

you never know, i just don't appreciate you twisting my words to something i have never said

you have to recognise the difference between love and attraction/infatuation

OK so you are experienced. Sorry i won't argue with you coz i am not .
But still i just feel if there is 1% chance then you must try. Coz rest of your life you don't want to think "what if i had not given up....".
It's better to try n fail then never try at all :)
