Polish girls and they are all conservative and reserved

Haha, tell that to Polish men - most of them (at least on forums) tend to think Polish girls are quite... slutty... especially ones in UK.

Where do you live Britishboy?

You think it's just Polish men that believe that? LOL!

I'm American and I can assure you that many of us believe that young girls from Poland and central/eastern Europe in general are...to put it politically correct...unusually sexually active.

Somehow some men have the uncanny ability to give bad meaning to anything. Between your opinion and Britishboy's opinion I'm not sure if its better to be one, or the other. Luckily I don't have to be either:-)

'Seks po polsku' - the sex lives of Poles

'The lifetime average number of sexual partners for Poles is 4.28' That's it??

Or it could be the number they'll admit to.

Poles are naturally conservative because of their religious beliefs and communist past. This might explain why they are conservative.

It seems a bit low, but not too low.
4-5 partners may be quite common having in mind that plenty of Polish people marry young, countryside is rather conservative (and gossips spread quickly) and people generally tend to be involved in long-term (>5 years) relationships.

The "average" however doesn't seem to be right. There are still people who are much more active - and as much as 100 may be too much but two-three dozens is quite likely, especially if someone spent a good few years "studying" in a big city.

Also, Warsaw from what I know is quite promiscuous which should increase the average for the rest of the country a bit :D

]people have to get intimate (in reality 'have sex') so why is it that the majority are too ashamed to say it

For the same reason we do not have discussion on taking a crap in the toilet. It is something we do but why talk about it? Intimacy is between 2 people [most of the time]. Why should we watch scenes with it on television or talk about it with our friends? We know it happens, it is personal, so leave it alone.

The Sexuality of Poles

Today we will look into the bedroom of the Poles. And not just the bedroom. Our sexual fantasies are becoming bolder, more persuasively put them into being and we are more satisfied with our sex lives - a theory confirmed by further reports analyze survey sexologists. More, perhaps not much more, but you can learn by observing a rapidly growing market for shopping and entertainment with the word "sex" in its name.

Magda, visits the swingers club regularly. Gladly poses for photos in front of the camera yet doesn't wish to talk openly about her sexual desires. Does the growing interest in the clubs for swingers, or who like sex in a group, may indicate a sexual revolution?

Just 20 years ago, the standard technique was missionary, face to face. Currently it turns out that about 40 percent of people have oral sex. -Says sexualogist Andrzej Sękowski

Paul - operating one of these clubs in Warsaw - says that this place is a success, and that he approves of this revolutionary approach to sex which is taking place.

- The subject becomes fashionable and popular by the fact that people are talking about sex openly expressing themselves and not because it's strange and incomprehensible - he says.

I am not sure there is any sense to talk about the sex lives of the average Pole. The society is too varied and too dynamic.

In 70s looks like much more liberal period as for that time (despite communists were quite puritanical). A lot of books written by good authors. Decent information in magazines. Some people were fascinated by a Swedish model of sexual education. No problem with abortion, contraception, etc. Typical townman had no any religion phobias of sex too. But what we heard about attitude of people in the far country was horrible. Full developed Taliban (we could say today) including virginity examination. So, what about average in that time?

In 80's communists wanted to stop democratic demands by a deal with clergy: political peace for sexual repressions. We remember a "moral" censorship (i.e. banned "The Last Temptation of Christ" by a special agreement) and infamous anti-gay police actions. Awful period. Young people became to be more puritanic then older!

In 90's sex ended up under pressure of two strong (in free market and free country) tendencies: puritanism and pûrnography which support each other. Business and policy try to involve to people private lives changing them and pushing in many different directions what - in addition - interferes with a social classes I mentioned above. So, people have many attitudes towards sex now.

It looks Poles have no common sexual live.

Do Polish men have more sex than their wives?

You would have to ask them. And, of course, they would lie. Even if they have less sex than their wives ...

What is all this nonsense about Polish guys being coy little virgins? Have never heard such b**locks in all my life! They are so very up-front, and up for it. They really are. The difference is: they get girlfriends at 14 as well, but are much more careful. Then they get married at 20, and they have lots of kids. And lots of sex.

So instead of, like the Brits, stumbling around drunk and stupid and getting into all sorts of trouble, they are at home, saving money, feeling secure because they have nice kids sleeping in their cots, and they (the parents ...) having frequent sex in the bathroom. That is how it works.

When I first went to Poland, I sat in a street cafe and gawped at the sheer volume of sexy guys walking down the street. Then someone pointed out that there was only one problem with them: they were all married. True. And having sex.

My verdict: Polish guys are highly-sexed. They are usually pretty fit, in all respects. They generally have more sex that their British counterparts. More sex ... but with one person. Which is actually the better kind of sex. And, because they are sexually confident, they are sexier men to be around. Even if married.

Something is wrong here :-) Shoudn't you have the same amount of sex as your husband/wife? :-)

Thanks for your expert knowledge Natasia. I never knew I was like that. Must have been in denial.

They generally have more sex that their British counterparts.

You really are a mine of information. Your own research or can you back that up?
