I've been to Detroit several times and I like it. I like the architecture of the down-town.
The roads were a little bad, but maybe they improved since. I've been in Orchard Lakes College for a while because my aunt was writing a book about a Polish Priest she knew and they have a lot of information about Poland. I even saw a picture of my grandfather on the wall as a Polish pilot fighting alongside with the US soldiers.

The picture was in the library on the campus of Orchard Lakes College.
And the priest was a Polish priest father Gogoliński who lived in London and my aunt who used to be a nun became good friends with him ( No hanky-panky though) and after she left the nunnery she was his house-keeper. When he died he left his house to her in England and since she knew the most about him, she was invited to Orchard Lakes to write about him.

WOW, that is pretty cool Krysia. Yes, Detroit does have alot of Polish Information
and I am glad, because most of it is gone ( the old communities) and the church
that my Grandmother Married in will be closing in October of 2007.
they lost many Parishoners and they will probably donate the items .

its a beautiful church as are many of the Catholic Churches in the older Polish communities.
