I think she was from New york... Yeah pretty sure she was. I know people cant help having annoying accents like that but regardless, less people will be interested, its only natural.

Well she could have lived in NY for a while but born and raised somewhere else also.

I know, because *most* of the girls I saw in Cali were Hispanic or Asian....there were "blonde Cali girls" too but they are by no means a majority. (Used to date one, Polish/Swiss heritage, couldn't cook a lick although she tried to learn when we were together)

Guess my own accent is probably a mix of country and Cali-Grew up in the NC sticks, but stationed in Cali last 13 years until a few months ago...
At my first duty station after A-school in Cali(went to A school in Millington, near Memphis to learn originally to be an aviation electronics tech), I guess my accent was thicker, people would try to get me to say things just so they could laugh, and wanted to see pictures of either a trailer or a tarpaper shack, wanted to know if I had dated my sister. I know what you mean.
Just think it's interesting. Cali has rednecks too, but they talk a little different....whole portions of greater San Diego (ok, Lakeside-calling you out) would be ghost towns when a monster truck rally was in town....

Hahahaha that is funny as hell. Moster truck rally. I wouldn't be caught dead at one. My accent changes sometimes. Like if I am around someone for a long time I kind of pick up their accent. Not on purpose though. Like once I went to Boston, and developed a thicker northern accent. But most say I speak like I am from NY or New Orleans. But not Arkansas at all.

I think that's normal. It's how people get accents in the first place, talking like people around them. After being in Cali for a few years, to native Californians, I still sounded like a "hick" but I even called my own mother once and she asked "Who is this?" and one time on leave-in my HOMETOWN-a girl asked me where I was from.
I'd picked up enough to where, *at home* I sounded like I was from Cali. Even though the real Californians knew better.
Ever heard Madonna on TV these days? She's not British....
It happens. Apparently my accent gets thicker when I'm excited or perhaps when I'm drunk-really I don't know, as I hardly ever drink, let alone get drunk. But it's how I understand it supposedly works.

I think accents are cool... it amazes me how different our world is.. even if we live
on the same planet, the next country over has different way of life.. some things similar
but interesting :)

I think it depends who has the accent too because if the person is a jerk the accent makes him sound even jerkier.

Yeah I agree no matter how hot they sound if they are jerks it ruins the moment. Everyone here like that french accent, but I love British accents. I don't know y. French a little bit too though.

HAHAHAH Johns from white trash town HAHAHAHAHA!!! Cali doesn't mix well with hicks from other states if u haven't noticed we tend to find some accents very humorous. Every1 who is a native in cali just knows that we are the best the smartest the richest and the most tolerant. The GDP of Cali is 4x more than that of poland! Thats funny

I'm sure you're a fine example of what Californians are (not). Based on your post, I'd say I lived there longer than your age, which is what, 9? Don't worry, you'll grow up one day and your voice will change, too. Can't promise you any women will like you though.

Fake - Plastic. That's how many of us view California (Southern Cali anyway). The only part of CA that I enjoy is Tahoe.
