What is the average size farm there? I have seen the tractor pictures on another thread. Personally I prefer my Kubota .

My flatmate used to work on an ostrich farm with his uncle.
The first time he told me, he said it was an emu farm.
Don't try to farm emus. They are too badly behaved. Just look at Rod Hull.
Go on - look at Rod Hull. Go on!

I used to drive a Kubota. It was a lawnmower-type thing used for pulling trailers (the mowing gear hadn't been fitted).

I don't know exactly average size but It's small. Much smaller than in western Europe and especially in America but many of these people have also normal jobs.

It would be nice if the US could go back to the smaller farms. It would bring back good family life and values

One thing you notice about Polish farms,or indead Poland, when you fly in is that the border with germany is clear. One side is large pastureland, the other, the Polish side turns into almost medievil style strip farms(not a slur,if it aint broke, dont fix it :) ) ,narrow strips of different crops, its very colourfull, and as I say ,almost a time machine ride into a long forgoton scenery for western europe.

Farms of any kind are now becoming virtually non-existent, within the state of California.
The ones that used to be located in Ontario, California are now relocating to the state of Washington.

and more poor people. it would be impossible to make a living on a 30ac farm. to do well, you need a ~1000ac.

Plk123 You are correct I ran the numbers last year and for 1000 ac One could make 50,000 a year living. Keep in mind that row crops do not take a full year of time so another job is possible t o supplement These numbers realy on land that is owned and paid for. This would change depending on any mortgage payments
