Hi friends,

I am Polish living in Canada for 5 years. It is nice to be here, but not good when it comes to finding a job. I am Polish teacher and I love to teach the language. I also used to work as an editor in one of Warsaw's publishing houses. Presently I live in London, Ontario. Anyway it is a good place to live in.
I would be glad to give private Polish lessons for a reasonable fee. Perhaps there are still some poeple who want to learn Polish although I know that English is the most popular language in the world.
I would also appreciate any suggestions for my job search here in London.

Best regards,
Maria

I came to Canada with my family becuase my husband used to live in Montreal before I met him and he loves Canada. I like the country either but I miss my family, friends and my home land. I am probably too sensitive to such great live changes like emigration.

I know what you mean Maria, I love travelling and visiting different countries but dont think I would like to emgrate permanently. Have you heard of skype? Its an internet telephone that makes it very cheap to speak to friends around the world - your friend does not even need to have a computer as you can ring a land line. I have a friend in Chicago and it costs me 1.5p per min to call him - if he had skype on his PC it would be free. Might be usefull for you to contact your relatives in Poland

Thanks for your advice Lakelandhiker. I have a skype at home and have been using it with pleasure. It is a very useful way of communication with our family and friends in Poland.
I send my warm greetings to Gruszka as well. It is nice that there are Polish people everywhere.

Hi MariaB. I'm in Wisconsin but have been in London several times. Crossed the Sault St. Marie border crossing and Canadians are very nice. They use the metric system so it's not too much different than Poland.
In the US Poles have to get used to miles, yards, pounds, gallons, ounces and inches.

Hi Miranda,

Nice to meet you. I would like to talk to you but not today. I am busy this weekend. Maybe on Monday?

I see Decorator that you are very happy about moving to Canada. What brings you to this country? And do you have any Polish or perhaps Canadian roots?
