Hey there, in need some info on getting married to a polish girl ,i'm from south africa currently working in edinburgh,Britain. me and my girlfriend have been together for almost 3 years now, we are planning on taking the net step,but don't know how and what to do. she wants to get married in poland so don't know what to do,do i need a visa or what ,would realy appreciate if anyone can help.

I was wondering that although the U.S. is pretty unpopular politically right now, but for their personal lives, do Polish girls seek U.S. citizenships?

I am an U.S. citizen and my basic interest is in getting some kind of E.U. citizenship so that I can live and travel freely in the E.U. countries.

If I am not really looking to work in the E.U. and nor am I looking for some mail order bride, but I am just a nice and normal young guy whose looking for some like minded stable of mind Polish girl who'd like to trade citizenships, I mean would anyone be interested?

No I am not of European ancestry. I am actually of Asian desent and am a U.S. citizen.

I am still somewhat young (25) so I guess I still have these ideas that adults may gawk at. But the idea is that I really loved traveling through Europe as a student and while I work in the U.S., if I had my choice of where to live, it would be this place I visited in GB.

I guess I'm looking for a like minded Polish girl who might want to come to the U.S. to work, the reason is because the U.S. I think is a good place to earn and build a career, but Europe is a good place to live, and the best life I believe is one where you have the choice to be at either place.

My first impression of either people who want to marry through some arrangement just to make a quick buck or because they are too timid socially is negative, but I believe that if you are just two young reasonable responsible people both seeking to have the best choices of where to live and where to develop professionally...well I think it's free to give and thinking out of the box in a cool way (for 25 at least).

(The reason I started thinking about Poland is because someone I work with is Polish and he suggested that Polish women might be interested due to high unemployment in Poland at the moment.)

In some European countries like Sweden, you cannot have dual citizenship. But you can in Poland. Never give up your US passport! With it, you can travel to most any countries without a visa. With a Polish passport, you need a visa to travel to most countries.

I'm glad to hear that Poland allowed dual citizenship. I guess I implicitly assumed that all along, what I basically want is to work with the girl so that in a few years she can get a U.S. citizenship and I can get a Polish citizenship. I do not think this would take much work, but I do believe both people need to be patient and cooperative over a long period of time.

It is true that a U.S. passport gets you a free visit to a lot of places, but of course you are always limited to a few months per visit. And I also think that unless you go with some tour group (and who wants that) then it is not possible right now to get a unified travel visa that would allow you to move through all the E.U. countries at will.

If you do not think this is a terrible idea, I'd appreciate any help and hints, especially some ways to get contacts!
