i remenber reading on this forum that its a polish thing- that when an empty text is sent its a sign that the person is thinking of you.

is this correct?

It's certainly not a Scottish thing, Scots usually fill texts to the last character, just to get their money's worth, hehehe. I've received empty texts b4, here in Poland

ive been known to send blank messages when i have knocked my phone in my bag or pocket to various people

i would never have thought of it as a way to say thinking of you ... if someone did a buzz on my phone or (one ringer) it would mean to me to phone them ..

No. No-one in this house has heard of it.

It could be that he was too fast with the keys and somehow lost the message.

It could be some cryptic way of saying... I have nothing to say to you. Or... I'm too busy at the moment.

Why didn't you call back for confirmation ?

I think the blank text is an error. I've done it a few times. Or it could be like the wonky phone I once had that every so often sent blank messages to everyone in my phone book.

Good point. If I get a blank text I always reply saying "why did you send me a blank text" and it usually results in "didn't mean to, how are you anyway?" and a lengthy text conversation about nothing...

If had nothing to say he wouldn't of sent anything at all.

He is too busy.

Leave a message on his voice mail.

Maybe it's a "new thing" in Poland. I've heard of buzzing, because that doesn't cost anything.

many mobile companies offer literally hundreds of free texts as part of their pay monthly packages - so there may be people out there who think nothing about sending out an empty text or two instead of buzzing ;-)
