Hi all.

I recently moved to Poznan on the 5th october with my girlfriend. i don't know anyone here except her, and given I'm new to the city and not sure what things there are to do besides the more popular things (zoo, browar, cinemas, etc) I was wondering if anybody - particularly expats wouldnt mind meeting up at some point on the 17th and going for a drink and a chat?

Best regards
Jay

Hi Jay, there's a regular meeting of English speakers every Thursday - the details are here - Hello, ex-pats & english speakers in Poznan

It's on absolutely every Thursday night.

And - if you fancy a beer tonight, we're going to "Tula" - the address is Mickiewicza 24 at 9pm :) You won't struggle to find us - just ask the barman for "Gordon" - or look for the ginger bloke speaking English.

17th is Sunday, right? Hopefully I am free in the evening once little people have been put to bed! Would late on work for you?

No worries. Sadly wont be able to make the thurs ones. But still up for sun 17th, anytime, if anyone is up for it. Let me know, would like to see some friendly English faces. Spent pretty much the whole day being shouted at by stressed (older) polish people who were frustrated with their inability to communicate with me :)

Still having troubles finding some foreign comforts and people to chat to :( finding it very lonely here in poznań, still searching hard for work, but here I have only my girlfriend who spends most of her days at work (sometimes upwards of 10-12 hours) and uni. So it gets very tiring, lonely and boring sitting at home.

Would really appreciate if anyone would like to hook up somewhere and have a beer or a chat (now it's safe, after the football lunies have calmed down... trams yesterday were quite intimidating) I'm not sure how long I can hack feeling so alone, a month in didn't realize it would be so hard :(

Regards

Ah, Nightglade, if only you could come on Thursdays!

What about Saturday night next week? I'm sure I can drag a few friendly faces out, we always end up meeting on Thursdays and Saturdays anyway :)

Hey delphi sounds great, I'm not so sure about the thursday one, I took a look and noticed its quite a large gathering which would likely make it even more intimidating for me, especially just going up to people and starting conversations! Saturday sounds good though, I'll check out my partners schedule and see what times I'm available, this thursday I know for sure I won't be able to come (though maybe I'll give next thursday a try if I can be brave enough) but saturday should be ok!
