Village "Piknik" Festival in Małopolskie near Tarnów - Welcome all!

For anyone interested, the village I live in, Siemiechów, Poland (32 km south of Tarnów in the foothills), is going to have their annual Village "Piknik" Festival on Sunday, June 21, 2009. Festivities start at 2:00 pm and goes on long into the evening. There will be folk music and dancing, food, cakes, refreshments, and much more. It will be lots of fun. This festival will take place on the football field near the parish church. In case it rains, festivities will be held in the Cultural Center / People's Home. Everyone is welcome!

I think this is an excellent opportunity for some of us to get together and meet up, have some beers, and shoot the breeze. We can even have a camp fire in the evening at my place. Let me know if you can make it, ok? Thanks.

Hi, Scorpio. Do you know whether these village piknik festivals are held each year? I will be near Tarnow in mid-June and this sounds like fun! Thanks.

Perhaps, all members of this forum can meet in Siemiechów, on Sunday, June 21, 2009. That is last year. :) But, where we will sleep? Are there enough hotels, motels, etc?
