Hello to all. I am of Polish descent. Our family's culture is dying with the elders. Luckily I have a young cousin-in-law from Poland. Is Polish a difficult language to learn? I have a Polish bumper sticker on my car, a beautiful young woman came up to me and started speaking in Polish when she saw it, so excited , I also happened to have a Polish shirt on, but I had to disappoint her with the knowledge that although my mother spoke fluent Polish, I could not, but I still am proud of being of Polish descent. I learned how to cook some Polish dishes, thank goodness, since none of my relatives bothered to learn how (my mom now deceased for 18 years taught me), The best food ever!!!!

Nah, only the first few years are kinda tough. Then it's a walk in the park.

Good luck and welcome to PF;)

Hi, welcome to Forum.

University of Pittsburgh has a great site for a first year Polish course. It has a first year text book, dictionary, grammar, etc. Click here: URL

There's also Forum post that has a lot of info as well, click here: URL

I came across a file that lists last names in Poland and the number with those last names. I don't the date of this date, but it shows the following on your family names:

234 Budzynowski
0 Mutzykowski
80 Swieczkowski
6 Swięczkowski
927 ¦wieczkowski
223 ¦więczkowski
5 Wcislak
12 Wcisłak
143 Wci¶lak
