Hej melnay! Welcome from the Polish girl. That is so cool that you want to learn polish. I need to make my soon hubby to learn it more. First lesson, that inveted by my s.hubby: He overheard me once and know he goes around and says 'chicken fille' what he thinks it means czekaj chwile-wait a moment.

Hey Melany, did you finally get any rain down there?

I heard Lake Lanier is running dry and Atlanta has a huge water shortage?

I`ve camped out a few times in Georgia on the way down to FL,
even got arrested once, them cops dont like us Yankees...lol

You should help him. My friend Grzegorz wouldn't teach me anything so I have been learning on my own which means I have learned a lot of stuff incorrectly. My favorite time with Grzegorz is when we are riding in the car listening to Polish music and he turns down the volume to listen to me sing (I make up the words as I go along because it is hard to tell exactly what they are saying). Sometimes my random words have him laughing so hard he almost wrecks the car!

We had two decent days of rain this week; however, we are really hurting. I live on a lake and it looks more like a mud puddle right now.

They are actually talking about having to buy water and bring it in to many counties. I am on a well so I guess when it goes, I am going to have to find a new place to dwell. I cannot live without water! I have been recycling my water for several months, but have no idea if things are going to get better.

What on earth did you do to get arrested? I imagine that was a fun time being in a jail in Georgia and getting all the funny looks cause the cops aren't the only ones who have problems with yankees! I have family from Michigan, but I keep that on the down-low.

Czesc Melnay,

Just joined today and thought I'd say hello. I live in Atlanta and speak some Polish too. I attended a class for a while here in Atlanta (with two other students) but it stopped when our teacher had a baby. Now I'm looking for another class.

Let me know if you ever want to get a group together at a coffee shop for some Polish practice/conversation. I know one or two others that may want to join us. I live near downtown, in Little 5 Points.

Also, I know lots of Polish people living around town. Maybe one would volunteer to be our teacher???

Thats too bad Tex. I would have really enjoyed getting together. I have recently relocated to Daytona Beach for the "season" and will be back in Atlanta next winter. Perhaps we can find a tutor by then and learn a great deal! It would be fun!

Take care!
