Meredith: Bonjour from Montreal

Hello,

My name is Meredith, I'm a 21 year old student attending McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. I am originally from Kansas City, Missouri in the States. I've joined this forum because I just a few days ago accepted a job offer as an au pair. I'll be living in Warsaw for almost a year (End of August 2008- End of July 2009).
I don't speak Polish, (though I'd like to try to learn) and I certainly don't know anyone in Warsaw with the exception of my host family.
I've joined this forum as an attempt to get a feel for perhaps the young international community in Warsaw, so its not such a shock when I arrive.
Any advice, suggestions, etc. you can give off the bat is of course appreciated!

Scary stuff to be heading to an unknown place but you'll be fine :) There's plenty of information about Warsaw on these forums and there are plenty of helpful people here who can give you extra information. :)
